So Eastenders:

I watched this for the first time in over a year last night.. Sorry what a pile of ****. This has to be the worst programme on the planet. Why on earth is this so popular?

Please tell me because I just can't see the attraction.
 
Man/Women X in the UK has absolutely no standards or taste, same reason why popular music is awful, same reason why most popular movies are boring and exactly the same.
 
People like to see other peoples lives going to ****, as happens regularly in soaps. It allows them to escape and make them feel like their life is perhaps not as bad as that.
 
Absolutely, it's all about seeing people in crisis all the time so your life doesn't seem so bad.

I'm with you though Huddy, Eastenders is tripe of the worst kind and all they do is the same storylines - murder, rape, accident, disease, the very rare wedding to stop viewer suicides... oh and suicide! :p
 
Did you know it has a higher death rate than pretty much any current war? Soaps are banned in my house while I am in the room.
 
Soaps in general I find are pretty boring tbh, I've never understood the UK's fascination with them - that and programs like XFactor/Fame Academy/Dancing on smegging Ice/Big Brother - I just find them totally mind numbing, I'd rather staple my todger to a table.
 
When i sit in front of a Telly I am constantly thinking, Well do summit then !!! :p
After spending so much time interacting with my PC/Screen/Monitor the Telly just seems Pointless unless there is an informative documentary or some Footy on.

I CANT STAND EASTENDERS.

does my head in so much, the acting is shocking the the storys are so bland.

Every week seems to introduce a new cast member so its stupid.
 
my mother in law put eastenders on when i was there for christmas a couple of years ago. i took the P out of it so much she has stopped watching it. Hateful cack.

So why watch it then??...i mean if it does your head in so much:confused:...surely logic dictates that you wouldnt watch such a programme??.

Same goes for all of you in here...i loathe x factor and stuff like that so i dont watch it..simples isnt it??

Persoanlly Eastenders is ok...i dont love it nor do i hate it but for some disengage your brain type of TV...i find it pretty amusing to be honest....they could try and liven it up though...some of the storylines in there are quite depressing:p.

I dont watch it i just walk past as its on or something and each time i do its always the same crap.

So that means you watch it;)...if its always on:p

Could say the same about all the other soaps ie coronation st, emmerdale and the godawful chav soap Hollyoaks although with Hollyoaks you have some good looking lasses on there.

All soaps are just pure crap...i just watch EE for the lulz really.
 
I've not watched a soap for probly 10 years!!... i avoided em when my Ex watched em.. now my current girlfriend hates em as much as I do :)

If you want to know whats happening just read one of the telly mags.. they seem to dedicate almost half of they're pages to em!!.. or if you miss enders just watch corry about 3 months later when the same story pops up there.. or 6 months its on Emmerdale!!..

They're all CRAP!!
 
I find the most depressing crap has to be Saturday night TV.

The entire format......those lifeless audiences that clap along to everything, the cheese ridden orange hosts, the panel of gay, moronic 'experts' and the line up of societies failures.

Grrrr...I've hated it for as long as I can remember. Only difference being, game shows have been replaced with dancing on tripe and X-Failures.

edit: Got carried away there....Yeah, Eastenders is just more awful crap a family member will always be watching! :p

S'pose you guys that live with women could use the time they watch soaps to play online games with me. :D

Sounds perfect to me, Soaps start around 7pm & go on for a couple of hours a night, That gives you time to come play Forza 3 with the OcUk Lads. :cool:
