MoD will start destroying all new UFO reports

Article posted today. Let the conspiracies commence. :D Was that a knock at your door OP?

The Ministry of Defence has started destroying all new UFO reports they receive - so they don't have to make them public.

The MoD recently announced that it has closed Britain's official UFO investigation unit including a public hotline.

Until recently all reported UFO sightings were investigated and made public - but now defence officials have introduced a policy of destroying reports within 30 days.

This means they don't have to publish the information in response to freedom of information (FoI) requests.

While the MoD insist the move was brought in because there is "no defence benefit" in logging UFO reports, it has unsurprisingly prompted various conspiracy theories.
A message on the Mod website reads: "In over fifty years, no UFO report has revealed any evidence of a potential threat to the United Kingdom.

"There is no Defence benefit in such investigation and it would be an inappropriate use of defence resources. Furthermore, responding to reported UFO sightings diverts MOD resources from tasks that are relevant to Defence."

Just popped the memory card in to the Macbook to transfer the pictures.

Why do people feel the need to say "Macbook" rather than Laptop.

You don't get people saying "Yah so I popped my memory card into the HP NC6400 to get the photos"

Just an observation :)

Also, nice hoax.

One red light one green light?

Ok, so the red light flashes, the green light stays on, you used long exposure and a tripod on something like... oh a helicopter.

Not uncommon to have the odd business/military/police helicopter out round here. With pretty lights.

I'm cynical when all they show are lights :)

This

The one photo I looked at was a 5 second exposure which explains the long lines.

It's actually a constant green light with a flashing red light (4 flashes), which means you can probably tell which airport it came from...

Same reason people always say their "iPhone" and "iPod" instead of phone and mp3 player. All seem to be the same brand as well.....;)

If I were an extra-terrestrial being, doing stealth visits to earth at night, I'd be sure to have visible lights to assist with my stealthiness, what what!

I'm sure the pattern in the flash is something to do with identification of either the destination or departing airport.

Nah, That's Bull. Airports used to have a flashing beacon on the ground that identified them but there isn't many around these days. Aircraft lights are not coded in any way.
