Well, you think wrong. It's perfectly valid as one of a series of measures of build quality. How can road noise levels not be a reflection of build quality?

Prestige car makers often quote low cabin noise in their marketing spiel and reviews of these cars often refer to it, so it's clearly an important consideration for many people. How do you create low cabin noise? With lots of good quality sound dampening materials, double seals on the windows, lining the bonnet and arches etc. Of course sound dampening is a valid factor in considering the quality of a car's construction. You saying otherwise seriously makes me think you're arguing just for the sake of arguing.
