Overclocking my Q6600 problems?

Ran prime for around 40 minutes and everything is fine, no errors =]

Edit: Although my min on CPU VCore has gone down to 1.37

Looking good. Don't worry about the vcore dropping, if it is stable, then that's fine.

Northbridge should show as Northbridge on Everest, but I have a feeling the trial version doesn't show all the temps/voltages.

Now, time to ramp it on a little more ;)

EDIT - Asus PC Probe might pick up all the temps we're looking for.

Okay so next step, lets see if we can hit 3.2ghz....

CPU RATIO - 8x
FSB - 400
CPU Vcore - 1.5 (will drop to 1.43 under load)

Leave the others as they were for now.

Report back with the results.

I don't think it worked, let it run, went downstairs to get something to eat and it restarted so!, I will check log

EDIT: Can't find, I'll run it again

Never worry, give the Vcore a very small increase, say to 1.52 or so in the bios (1.45 under load) and see how it goes.

What are the individual core temps like? Can you post a CoreTemp screenshot at load?

Oh yeah give us a sec, I need to get it going again, it was 58-60 =]

That all looks spot on. Plus CoreTemp sets the tjmax at 100c, which is thought to be 5c - 10c higher than Intel say it is, so your correct temps are probably about 5c lower. :)

Some people adjust the tjmax, but I prefer to leave it, as I know if I stay below 70c at 100c tjmax, then I am in good shape. ;)

Anyway, enough rambling, back to your overclock. Try this...

CPU RATIO - 8x
FSB - 425
CPU Vcore - 1.52

Again, leave the others untouched. Just check in the bios that the RAM is staying at or below its rated speed.

That should give a CPU speed of 3.4ghz.

Report back with your results.

Again, it may need a smidge more vcore, and as before, only raise it a very small amount (0.02 or so) and only if needed.

We're not done yet ;)

Well you haven't reported back yet, so either all is going well, or you have crashed and burned :D

Well can't seem to find the right VCore lol, tried 1.525, 1.53, 1.54, 1.55, 156 and none seem to work lol!

Anyway I have to go soon, got college tomorrow didn't see the time lol ;p, do you think we could continue this tomorrow?
