Alienware M11x

This just doesn't cut the mustard - as you can see from this dell video the FPS in L4D2 average about 15-25 when the action is on.

I wish alienware had gone down the 13" laptop route & used the extra frame space to put a 360m gpu in it.

I just ordered one:

SU7300
2gb RAM (will upgrade myself, £80 at build time or £80 from Crucial but then I can sell on the 2gb that was in it)
500GB HDD
Win 7 Pro

My PC gaming has consisted of this in the past 6 months:
Lots of Football Manager 2009/2010
A little Dawn of War 2
A little Half Life 2

Think it will manage those fine!

You can currently get this spec:

nice one mate :)

Can you let me know what the speakers are like?

Edit - Raikiri, where have you seen that spec? very interested but only see an overpriced £750 spec

Speakers are very good i think, they play music at high volumes without distortion and games like modern warfare sound very good especially with all the explosions.

Where do you get that spec for £700, dell uk starts at £749?

It has expired now, best deal is £685 with the SU7300, 320gb HDD, 2GB RAM and a TACTx mouse (has to be selected) after Quidco.

Well... on the Dell Euro site, they're the only place you can buy them :p

-6% Quidco.

Keep in mind that's with a £60 mouse, you could probably get £40 for it if it wasn't wanted/needed. So £645 ish.

use Evalue code: 305 - N00W1104

Despite not needing this as I have a vaio CW I ordered it anyway. If I like it better than the vaio then that will end up on members market and if not will return it within the 7 days

I spoke to Dell about that offer and they've said it was an error by marketing and the order may be cancelled - anyone got one progressing well?

the 4gb was an error but they still have it available with 2gb. I placed an order but it hasnt progressed yet. Will phone them tomorrow and let you know how I get on

Spoke to CS today and they said there was a problem with my card and they would try it again today. Hopefully it will go through this time. I have bought about 5 dells with that card this year!

Tuesday! when did you order it? that seems quick. Can you give us your impressions when it arrives? :)
