1Ghz 5870 18% faster than GTX480 in Heaven with Tessellation off!

WTF, how can you compare a screen shot taken to a picture taken with a camera, get real. And just for the record unigine looks exactly like it does in the screens at the same settings as the 480 run and I get exactly same FPS on the dragon at 1000 or 850 core so it's legit.

^^^
AA is turned off, as that was the setting in the original Nvidia video.

Goto 1.50 in the vid and I think you will see no jaggies I dont think the pics are in high res(maybe I am wrong)
As I say lets wait for real life bench marks.

Regardless as to whether or not the GTX480 actually turns out to be about that fast, I just cannot stress how completely unscientific this 'evidence' is enough.

This is the real post.

If this does come to be true (I mean across the board- not just synth benchmarks) unless it is close in price to a 5870 or overclocks like a beast at least 30% beyond a 5870 then NV really do have an epic fail on their hands.

I'm patient enough to wait until the end of the month though then we can finaly see whats what.

BTW you can't compare the public release heaven benchmark 1.0 with any of the later versions 1.1 through 2.0. They are doing quite different, in some cases more complex in other cases better opptomised, things under the bonnet.

Am i the only one getting sick and tired of hearing about blah blah's performance in one synthetic benchmark. I couldn't care less if both ati and nvidia ran the damn thing at 1,000 fps real world games are where people want to see the performance and if there is any difference between whatever cards. All this uniengine thing is getting a bit sad and pathetic now with so many people pinning their flag to a pole based on it. My biggest prediction for fermi lanuch day plus two weeks is so many people who claim to be knowledgeable on these things looking complete planks when heaven turns out to be as good an indicator of performance as the a chocolate fireguard for keeping you safe.

Meh anyhow... using the settings and resolution from that thread I get ~80fps in the same scene... with moderatly overclocked GTX260 SLI.

Anyone who makes up their mind before the card has even come out is a fool.

In fact, I'd give the cards a month after release, untill all the crap on the internet has cleared and we all get an accurate and unbiased picture of how these cards compare to the competition.
