Something not right there.

I can run it on my i7 laptop with a GTX260M ( 9800GT desktop ) @ 1680 x 1050 at max settings and its gorgeous, with no slow down even with a lot going on in the screen.

I'm running an X1900XT and generally it's playable @ 1680x1050 - Low quality settings, it does dip down to under 20fps though in certain areas.

What graphics card would you recommend upgrading too for 1680x1050 resolution? The rest of my system is fine

5750/5770, probs 5770 to be safe

I'm tempted by the 5770, seems like a great card for the price, but I keep being drawn to the 5850 too! The 5850 costs about £80 more though, just wondering whether it is worth the extra?

if you can afford a 5850 then you might aswell, it's a very good card

what cpu do you have?

I've got an i7 920 @ 3.6, Gigabyte UD3R and 6gb OCZ Tri Channel, it really is just the GPU letting me down

Running 9800gtx,4gb,q6600 @ 2.4ghz

Settings:1920x1020 , All settings low and i get about 30 - 50fps (Can drop to 12 - 15 in certian multiplayer maps)

What's wrong?I should be getting a lot more fps.

Recently formatted and changed hd,temps are fine.

1. overclock that cpu

2.what driver version are you running for your gpu?

is hbao enabled in your graphics settings? cos turning that off will make a big difference

Sounds wrong. I have an 8800GT, 4gb, [email protected] and it runs fine. This is running in 1680x1024, all higest settings with 2x AA and 2x AF in Windows 7 64bit. HBAO is turned off because its only subtle lighting effects on the gun and drops about 10-15fps with it on

Game runs perfectly in these settings, around 30 - 50fps. Pretty good for an old 8800

As per a previous post, my problems have appeared to have gone away (not sure how), running at 1920 x 1200 with x8 AA x16 AF and running very smoothly at last.

Only prob is I continually get kicked by punkbuster lol.

Ultimately, based on my experience and others, this game seems to have its fair show of bugs and probs, seems like the beta went back to alpha rather than a full released product, anway....

One thing I noticed which I find really weird, is that you cant strafe when running, dunno if it bothers anyone else but it makes the game feel restricted IMO.

Runs fine on a C2D e8400 at stock with a 4890 also stock. 1920x1080 all high. Seems a lot of peeps having performance issues on better hardware than mine...

You need to manually update PB and EA suggest deleting the BC2 Beta also from your HDD if you have that installed.

Makes no diff at all the problem is server side bug. Forums are full of people updating with no diff

Oh ok , it did for me though. I was getting kicked every time I joined a server and once I updated all was fine ...

Think I did try both of the things you suggested.

In terms of updating PB manually, is that wehn you save the htm file into the PB folder within the game itself?

Wondering if I missed something.

Well I downloaded the latest client update from here and ran it . It looks for the location of your BC2 folder and then updates the PB folder for you .

It was the same in BF2 and I think it's a good thing, I mean, when people are sprinting, they're generally looking in one direction.

hey, got pretty much the same hardware

the beta seemed very choppy but ive found its gone better, im playing at 1680x1050, all up high, habo off bloom off and 4x aa and 8xAF and get pretty goot fps, pretty much constantly above 60 (in the 80's-100's) and only dis below if theres loads of explosions and smoke right up in my face.

tho i have noticed i have optem for V-Sync to be on..... but my fps goes about 60.... think its busted xP

have u tried bloom off? cos i think gave me a bit of a boost, and even with it off it still seems like bloom is on in some maps xP
