Fuel tax up again 1st April

After you old chap, I doubt people would be prepared to sacrifice their jobs to 'make a point' which would probably be ignored anyway.

If it was organized then why not? Bus drivers and fire fighters go on strike about pay, why don't people do the same sort of thing about petrol? I know theres no way of me been able to get a bus to my work because they don't provide a bus service at 5 in the morning.

Doesn't this go round in circles anyway? Petrol goes up, people moan, business fail and it comes back down again. Rinse and repeat.

this sucks big time, the amount of profit they must make from us tax payers is just stupid, Our government is just greedy, were just coming out of a recession people are still struggling with monthly bills/ debts. and noe they tax fuel even more, and the governement wonder why so many people are on benifits cause it's so expensive to get to work, public transport is sh*te and train tickets are bloody expensive.

I hope you dont mean just this price increase, if you do then i think your car may be broken :p

Yeah I do. I use to put in £20 a week when it was 108.9p now its gone up to 112.9p its costing me an extra £5 a week. Its either down to them buying rubbish petrol and Im using more or the cold weather making me use my heaters which is using it all up.

Wasn't there changes made to the way fuel duty is charged to level out fuel costs.

Ie. When oil prices are low, more duty than normal is charged, and when oil prices are high, less duty than normal is charged.

I already pay over £1.20/l :(

I think the Tories were thinking about introducing that.

Another £2.10 per tank then - although I last filled up about 3 weeks ago so I'm not too concerned any more :D

Going by the 2.5p increase that this is and on an average of 30mpg, you would need to do around 6000 miles a month to add that much...

Well all I know is that I now have to put £25 in at the pump rather than £20 to get the same mileage and maybe a little more.

Yes but Gordon Brown's miracle economy has left us with the worse budget defecit since the war. If we are indeed coming out of recession (I am not convinced we are over it yet) they have no options left but to increase tax and cut spending.

As motorists we have historically and continue to be shafted for the so called good of the country.

We should pitch up to 10 Downing Street with our keyboards, what do you say lads?

No, we should commandeer a tank regiment with its Challenger 2 battle tanks and turn up when Gordo is at home. ;)

Mind you it will cost a bit to fill them up. :D
