Went to make a purchase from the shop site (gfx card, win7...) and due to not using it for some time when asked for my "Verified by Visa" password I couldn't remember it so chose to reset it. only to find as soon as i do this it refuses my payment saying it could have been fraudulent

Anyone else had problems with these people?

I've never had an issue with it, I think the system works quite well - just hope more places use it.

Phoned up the number they gave me, answered god knows how many "security questions" and was told they would reset the system if I gave it ten mins so that the payment could go through, 15 mins or so later still refusing it

Yup I hate it too. At least the Mastercard one gives you the option of whether you want to use it or not.

I'm impartial.

I do, however, hate the banks that force you to use a card reader to login. Natwest is much more sensible only asking for it if you want to change something (e.g. pay [random Nigerian] £10,000).

Never had a problem here, even when I've needed to reset my password, it's always been simple as long as I remember my details and the answers to the security questions :)

Yeah, I hate it as well. It makes credit card fraud that much more difficult... I could do without another layer of security to break through.

Its a good system.

I have just reset my password with the bank this morning because i had typed the wrong one in 3 times...i hadnt bought online with this card for over a year.

I have a card from lloyds I can't use online - funny as I only took it out to use online (better protection than debit card) as it asks for my secret phrase to be able to setup 3d-secure.

I've been into the branch twice to reset this 'secret phrase' and both times someone has messed up the data entry and it doesn't recognise it.

Wish they'd just send me a code for it like they do with cards.
