Hot off the press, i.e: just dropped through my door; latest PC Gamer.

Review scores:

Battlefield BC2: 81%:

Dragon Age: Awakening: 81%:

Supreme commander 2: 85%:

AvP: 65%:

Assassins Creed 2: 86%:

Others: Global agenda: 70%, Star trek online: 74%.

Have not read the reviews yet, but cannot understand that BFBC2 score.

Read the rest of the review then, if the reviewer is half decent then they'll explain why they felt certain aspects of the game could have been better :p

Besides, if you enjoy the game and feel it is worth your time and effort then why do you need someone else's views to validate your own?

Battlefield BC2 is dominately a multiplayer game, right? And the author comments on the single player being rubbish? The reviewer is obviously crap.

Well yes and no. It definitely will try to take a lot of people off Activision's hands to attempt to dominate the multiplayer market. However this is the first Battlefield game for PC to have a proper singleplayer campaign. I have bought and played through the game just for the campaign, having no intention of going online.

Agreed, I don't. However I can be quizzical of someone elses opinion.

Can't sit and read review yet as working atm.

Main thing I disagree that review tidbit is the brief statement "held back by flavourless map design". I think the Maps in BC2 are what really make it hold it's own, I think they've been very carefully balanced and crafted personally.

85% for Supreme Commander 2? A bit overrated I think. It should be 75 maybe pushing 80%. The graphics are sharper and more fluid with improved physics, however like everyone are ranting, the AI is poor/broke and the multiplayer launcher is also broke (too many "unable to join game!!!"). Redesign of robot armies are brilliant but lacking in choice and maps, although gorgeous looking, are on the wee small side.

As a long time PC Gamer subscriber, I just want to comment that print media is dying, and that goes for my beloved mag just as much. Reviews these days are just too subjective, however howlers like ETW AI 'like playing a human'. and MW2 MP being 'Awesome and everything PC gamers dreamed of' have really put me off trusting in anything they say anymore. Anyway dont want to wee on the parade.

The question you need to be asking is: how much did Sega and Activision pay for those reviews? ;)

Review scores and closing comments:

Battlefield BC2: 81%: Satisfying, unintimidating war with rich visuals, held back by flavourless map design and poor single player mode.

Dragon Age: Awakening: 81%: Although it is shorter, shallower and less sexy version of DAO, this is none-the-less still long, deep and sexy.

Supreme commander 2: 85%: A brilliant re-design of supreme commanders robot armies, ironically limited by a lack of artificial intelligence.

AvP: 65%: Great monsters and partly interesting multiplayer, but weak campaigns and clumsy controls reduce AvP's long-term appeal.

Assassins Creed 2: 86%: Tactile, bloody and substantial. One of gamings most exciting open worlds - but only when you are online.

Others: Global agenda: 70%, Star trek online: 74%.

I think you may be breaching PC Gamers copyright with this post.

Really, oh dear.

I will go and cower in the corner.

Come on, it is not like I typed out the entire review. Thought I would be selling more of the mag as people rush out to buy it and dissect the reviews.

But hey, if the mods think I have then please feel free to remove thread.

FYI: edited - but you will have to edit your quote now :D

Really? Think i'll buy it then.

81% for BD2 is pretty poor, is the game that bad?

I don't know yet because although I bought it about a week ago, EA will not allow me to play the game because my "register code is already in use".

EA's replies that I am "probably" using a Promotion code or a VIP code (I'm not, I don't even have either) have so far proved useless.

Might just sell the game if it's that poor, the demo for Just Cause 2 looks amazing, I might just wait for that instead.

Lets be honest here if BC2 had been made by IW exactly the same way dice did, it would have prob got 95%.... reviewers are out of touch and biased. It all comes down to individuals opinions.

The only time i'd trust a game reviewer is if they gave a game a score of less the 20% then you know its gona be total cack!
