Need good MMORPG recommendations

A few pointers if you decide to go with LOTRO -

You can get 60 day time cards for €15 from play.com, although they go quickly when they get them in :)

A lot of the classes are not your stereotpyical mmo class types - assume nothing, read up on them.

Updating 27% grr..

Will likely be playing a champion, I love playing a supporting dps class, not an essential role like a healer or tank but also not as squishy as a mage.

What class do you recon I should go with? Are there any stat differences in between them or is it just looks?

Edit: Nevermind I found a stat listing. Is elf or man better for dps, eg. is agility or might more important / which one scales better?

And you're making that statement from what experience, very inciteful post

***Edit: Arse must remember not to feed the trolls :o

Calm down, dear. I played MMOs for about 6 years. That's 6 years of my life I'm not getting back.

If you can break the habit and look back at what you actually did in that time, it's mind-boggling that you ever found it fun. For me, at least.

What are you doing in this thread then, exactly? Besides being patronising.

I agree with his point of view (which everyone is allowed to give btw). MMO's are a total grind and waste of time. Maybe during the first month where everthing is exploration mmo's can be fun but after that...meh, i got better things to do.

Fair enough, if that's what the thread is actually about. But this is like me butting into a conversation between two bike enthuasiasts about what bike to buy next, and telling them that bikes are crap and that they should be walking. It's not relevant, and they don't want to hear it.

Technically, all games are just a waste of time, they are nothing more than entertainment. Why do people play? well...because they are fun to them. (like all things in life they wont be fun to everyone though). I've been playing MMOs for over a decade and to be honest I've had more fun in MMOs than in any other single genre of gaming.

On the other hand, there are people out there who dont find any gaming fun at all and would be baffled why any of us on here spend any amount of time playing any game. Different strokes.

Let's keep this from turning into a pro/anti MMORPG discussion please, bottom line is everybody has their own taste.

Back on topic some of these recommendations are looking great, I'll have a hard time deciding which game to get addicted to next.
