first of all sorry if i started topic incorrectly

i want to buy 5870 vapor x or 5970

now i have XFX GTX 285 XXX ediTion

I7 oc 4.0

the game i was waiting was bad company 2 i want to play it maxed out but i cant if i max it on 1920 1080 fps drows to 25 20 avg fps is 35

most of here are playing this game i ask u very much advise me if i buy 5870 will my fps want drop min 50?

With crossfire 5870s I got about 90fps average with everything maxed at that resolution (during the beta). Given crossfire scaling, I'd say 50fps would be a fair estimate for one card. I get that now with a 5770, but I have AA and HBAO off.

5970 is overkill for BC2 and frankly a waste of money if you're just upgrading for it, I'd go with the 5870 now, and if it starts to get sluggish in games at a future point just xfire it when the prices drop and the 6000 series is out.

It's not too much of a waste of money is it? It's effectively a lower clocked 5870x2 isnt' it? and it can then be overclocked to 5870 speeds and beyond right? Take the price and divide by 2 which is a lot cheaper than getting a single 5870 and you'll save yourself a pci-e slot too.

Well, that's how i see it anyway if i could afford one :)

Hmm you do not need neither of those GPUs to play BC2 with decent fps. I use 5850 and play it on steady 50-60fps. Click on my CPUZ validator in my signature to see the rest of my parts.

BTW I do not use MSI Afterburner (870/1200) as you can see in my sign when I play the game, I only use CCC overdrive, so my card is on 775/1125.

No M8, I think the gameplay is excellent, puts MW2 to shame, yeah 32 man on a PC is crap, but like I said it's a console port and not worth upgrading for the visuals, now BF3, that will be the real deal.;)

I take it you don't like the game then :p

I think it's awesome and quite stunning maxed out ;)

I'm not disagreeing about the graphics on high and what not because they do look great.
But by going by what people have been saying and when I started to play the game (on single player) the graphics aren't 'THAT' great as everyone made them out to be...(IMO) I guess I expected too much???

Mind you, I'm on DX10 so I haven't seen the difference between it (not sure if it's that much?)

Gameplay rocks, but really the GFX smell of slightly polished 360 game, of course if you're at 30FPS and under then by all means upgrade, but for what it is, it should play a lot better performance wise than it does.

Have you played it in 1080p, 8xAA, 16xAF, HBAO on, VSync on and everything on High? It looks stunning!
