I wonder if they will be doing any HD deals nearer to the World Cup...
Just to add, for Freesat users, ITVHD will become a full time channel on its own from April 2nd, rather than a "red button" thing. Upscaled broadcasts of the main channel when there's not "proper" HD content on

Think so, I have Eurosport HD (though to be honest its a very poor channel, only about 10% of its programs are actually in HD)

Until we get normal TV (BBC 1 -> 4, ITV 1 ->4, channel 4 and channel 5) all in HD then I won't bother.
If the F1 is in HD I may be tempted though....

It annoys the hell out of me that BBC cant be bothered to show the F1 on their BBC HD channel. Especially as the channel isnt showing anything at that time anyway.
They could do with pulling their fingers out at the BBC

I bought a 47inch TV and was looking forward to SKY HD.
I went round a mate's house and looked through his channels as he has it. BBC HD is one channel that isn't even on half the time!
Precisely !! Take this weekends race, they arent showing anything on the channel at that time, so why not show the damned race in HD. I bet if Sky had the F1 it would be shown on an HD channel

Unfortunately it's nothing to do with the BBC. The feed is not HD yet and the BBC do not have a say over it, they simply broadcast it the live feed which are filmed by the same group at each race. For MotoGP this is DORNA, but for F1 I am not sure who it is.
EDIT: Google suggests the group are "FOM".

Trying to think what the other 10 could be. Probably Sky2, Sky3, Comedy Central (really want this), adult channel?, Good Food, Five, possibly BBC1+2 seperate channels, Living (probably trade Sky1HD to get this off VM) and maybe Animal Planet?

It'll be nice to get ITV HD as a normal channel without having to tune it manually and go through the menus to watch it. The footy is one of the few programs that have made HD worthwhile for me. Got my fingers crossed for DaveHD making an appearance. Also those other movie channels like Film4 in HD would be nice.
I'm also quite bitter about the F1. The SD picture is worse on my Sky+HD box than it is on my old Sky+ box so it's a downgrade in regard to that.

You don't need to be subscribed to the news pack to get Eurosport HD anyway, you get all HD channels by paying for the HD pack. It's not exactly the same channel as Eurosport, sometimes events start showing later or totally different things are on the HD channel.
Yes. It will be a simulcast of ITV1, so it will be recordable now.
