Royal Mail Special Delivery

Hey all,

I was just wondering whether any of you've ever had Special Delivery items sent on a Friday which arrive the next day without paying the Saturday delivery premium extra?

I haven't but for all the bad press RM gets more often than not I'm quite pleasantly surprised by their service.

I've had it once, but the postman arrived with not only it, around 10 other pieces of mail. Lazy git.

My experience is about 50/50 it depends on how busy they are.

You can use Special Delivery™ Next Day from Monday to Friday, except bank holidays or public holidays. If you need your item sent over the weekend, you can also arrange a guaranteed Saturday Delivery available at just £2.20 extra per item.

Probably not but you never know.

Yes, pretty much every package ive ever posted RMSD or had posted to me on a friday has turned up on a saturday.

Most of the items I have ordered which were sent using RM SD have arrived Saturday without paying any premium as were I live I get Saturday post.

Bit surprised by some of the responses. I've sent quite a lot through RMSD and if it's been sent on Friday I'll get it on Saturday every single time!

You could nip down to your depot and ask nicely?

That's what I normally do if I need something urgently.

I've had it a few times. They come in the week at about 11:45 here, but on saturdays 07:30! Not nice if you've been out the night before.....

If something is dispatched on friday I always get it on saturday.
