Lost!
I'm thinking of upgrading my netbook, its superb for most things but i am finding the 10.1" screen a touch restrictive.

I had to use the OH's old 15.4" the other day and its massively oversized so i definatly dont want a "normal" laptop.

It doesnt need to be overly powerful, or have a massive HDD but a decent screen is essential.

Budget? I just had a load of Lenovo u350s through work lately. Sexy! 13.3", ulv cel 1.2, 2gb, Win 7 and a DVD rw. Just this side of 400 notes

The low side of 450 would be good, but i can get VAT back so its not a great problem. If im moving away from an Atom i'd like it to be a bit more powerful than a celly though.

Dell 13z!! 13", but a great machine.

Check out the big thread on it. Recommended it in 2 threads now, but I was in exactly the same situation as you - with a netbook, but wanting something with a bigger screen and a bit more power, but still wanting the portability. This fits the bill perfectly!

I'll take a look, ive never been a fan of dell due to laptops overheating in the past but i'd guess they have sorted it now?

Asus UL30A?

Seem to be several similar models available, naming isn't consistent. There was one for £399 somewhere recently.

Easy lad, he probably just didn't read it properly. He may have meant second hand too.

sorry mate, it's just that on TSR, i help a friend moderate the tech section and without fail, every "spec me a laptop" thread had at least two or three AppleZombies go "Maaaaaaaaaaac"

Yeah it does press my cider when people do that too. I'm certainly not a fan of Apple products, though I appreciate they're right for some types of people.

A 2nd hand 13" Macbook, Enjoy OSX and Windows on a beautiful and well constructed Laptop. Don't care what the haters say Apple make the best laptops.

Blithering idiot.

Did you not read what i said about not wanting a mac??

I read your first post skipped through a couple of others and gave an opinion.

I'm not going to resort to petty name calling though, Hope you find what your looking for :)

Acer Ferrari One?

Sure, it'd have been better if Acer hadn't bothered making it a Ferrari laptop, but the branding isn't as gaudy as pictures make it look. Saw one up close a few weeks ago and by all accounts it's quite a nice machine (I could even go as far as to say it's nice looking!). The only criticism I found with my short play with one was that the trackpad is a little small, but I guess that goes with the territory given it's only an 11.6" machine. It seems to always be the trackpad or the keyboard the suffers and I know I'd rather see the trackpad suffer than the keyboard.

I noticed today that Asus UL20A-2X089V is now available over here. It has 3GB RAM and 320GB HDD, but costs a lot for what it is.

I picked mine up from the States, but with 2GB RAM and 250GB HDD I think for just about £407 (due to credit card charges).
