The Official Football Manager 2010 Thread

Right so im at the end of my 3rd season with Newcastle, finished 2nd by 3 points from Man U (much better season than 7th last year with Milevskyi being the free signing of a life time).

My whole season was hampered a bit by a lack over overall fitness from my team though, is there a way to train my players to be able to be fit enough for over 90 mins of football a week? (on some weeks i had 3 prem games in a week and was struggling to get a good team out for the 3rd game)

Yeah i wouldnt see that happening either.

i love FM10, i have a few games going :

Got my lvl10 game going with Blackfield (started in lvl9) and now 2 promotions away from Blue Square, and i am nearly over in my 5th season and with a few more wins i will be confirmed champions and will have gotten back to back title wins and i havent lost a league game for i think its like 60 games :)

Got My Journey game going, into 2013/2014 Now at Finland National Team after leaving Eygpt after winning the ACoN and my club team is Koln and on course for winning the title in out first season back up - got some sweet youngsters :)

That was what I was thinking as well :D

Took me ages with Liverpool to be able to afford players of that calibre. They only have like £2m to spend in the 1st season :D

Went on a terrible run after such a great start so after not winning in 8 games I've changed from a 4132 to a narrow diamond 41212 ala chelski, this is working out so much better and I've not lost in 5 including a win against arsenal.

I'm into be semis of the Fa cup after nocking out villa in the quaters, the only big team left is arsenal so I think I have a chance of some silverware !

Gomez and rodellega have been awsome all season but victor Moses is still young and not really doing much so can anyone recommend a striker to play off rodellega?

Also chelski bid 10 mill foe nzogbia but he told them to FO :)
 
Has anyone noticed a bug in the 3D engine where it doesn't load your kit up properly?

I'm playing as Swansea and continually just playing in all white rather than black shorts and the proper kit top :confused:
 
^^ Andy Carrol from newcastle isnt too bad... (only £4m roughly)

Oh and a but of a lolwut? sort of moment from the off season before my 4th season (challenging for the prem this time i think)

I got 43 seconds once but not 15!!!!

Wish you could upload the goal highlights to show Andy Carrols winner at pompy where my keeper hoofed it up field, went to the other keeper, he fumbeled it and Carrol hammered it in with me shouting THE CHEAPIST GOAL!!!!!!!

In other news finally nearing the end of my 1st season with Everton on the 10.3 update. Had a load of work to do so I've had to stop playing for a bit.

Just finished my last League game, comfy 0-4 win against Burnley.

Beat Man U in the League Cup 1-0 and come 1st in the League, was very tight with Liverpool for a bit, but because of the EURO Cup ended up with a few games in hand on them which was very handy.

Sunderland are the other team that went down. Got £20 million for finishing 1st from the League. Hopefully I'll be able to buy my loanies (sp) Sanchez and Sissoko with that money. Randomly got £16 million from the board in December so £7 million of that went to buy Donovan (got him in on loan at start of the season), then I seen that van der Vaart wasn't needed by Madrid so he is coming at the start of the summer for £7.5 million.

Sold Baines to Man U for £8 million and Cahill to Chelsea for £11.5 million (annoyingly though 'cos in 10.2 Man City would buy hiim for £18 million). That went to buy Luis Saurez from Ajax for £20 who has been immense to say the least!

5th highest goal scorer in the League with 20, 1st in assists with 16! Scored 34 goals in total this season from 57 appearances. Worth the £20 million I think.

James Vaughan on the other hand has been a beast. 28 goals and 18 assists this season from a 57 appearances is epic!



Got Real Madrid in the EURO Cup final, which I fully expect to lose!! :D and Liverpool in the FA Cup final which I'm hoping I should be able to win, we shall see, will play them tonight before I go to sleep.


Gerrard has won Footballer of the year, Suarez has won Players' Player of Year, Vaughan won Player's Young Player and I've won Manager of the Year. :)

Won both the EURO and the FA Cup!

Beat Madrid on pens 3-4. Was 0-0 after full time so went to extra time, Alonso scored a belta from well outside the box on 108 mins, then Vaughan scored on 114 mins to make it 1-1. Made 2 subs in the last minute bringing on Jags and Bilyaletdinov for the pens as those two are pretty decent. They went first on pens. Higuain put his wide and Ronaldo's was saved. Bilyaletdinov had his saved.

FA Cup game was awesome, Yakubu scored on 27 mins...the ***** had Mascherano sent off on 35 mins, straight red!! Then 4 mins into injury time in the first half Phil Neville of all people came from centre mid and scored a right nice boy goal, little chip over Reina from just inside the area, I actually jumped up! :D First goal of the season as well for him.

Brilliant season! :D Played a lot of 3-4-3 and 5-4-1 formation, hopefully be able to get the lads on loan signed up, and will have to see who else is available and who I can maybe sell.

Just finished my first season in the Premiership with Forest. Managed to hangon to 17th spot an avoid the drop straight back down, mainly thanks to my striker Gamiero who finished as the leagues top scorer. Need to make some major signings over the summer and sort out my tactics to climb up the table next season!!
 
Excellent news, paying in monthly instalments actually works for Everton now. :D

Needed a left back because I wasn't going to spend £8 million on Radu (let Liverpool do that) so I've brought in Dodo for £3 million and he scored in the Community Shield against Liverpool. Won 1-0. :D
 
Ok started as AC Milan as i saw someone here realy struggle with them. Only 15 games in and im top by 5 points.

Im using a strange formation that actualy works. I think i messed up my summer dealings 2bh. I wanted to get some younger blood in. I bought in camacho for 7 million (2 years instalments) and then sent him to preston for first team games. Albin has been class although expensive. I realy need another CB as the gouch is criminally crap

Dzeko has been useless 2bh he just doenst score! What role should he play?
i paid 26 million for him in 2 year installments
