Nokia N900

Ah, that must be what I'm doing wrong then.
I openedd the message, then when I went to fMMS and switched access point to (Vodafone MMS) there was nothing there. Like a dope, I was looking for a retrieve new mms button / tab.

Ok i made a video to show you how easy it is,

i was waiting ages and then stopped recording and i got the mms then quickly started to record.

I then closed the pop up and switched APN and opened fmms app, i got a text from my mate saying i owe him 20p lol. Any ways for some reason it said failed to download mms but it didnt but this is the 1st time i saw this error and i tested many times.

just wanted to show others how easy it is. oh i was using my xbox 360 webcam on pc so had to lower brightness on phone LOL

Compared to nearly any other phone out there, that's dog slow.

well, 3 months now with the N900.

Apps I particularly use:

Conversations desktop widget. this is a must and I like the recent upgrades
Forca weather. pretty accurate, moreso than most.
Personal dataplan monitor. does what it says on the tin.
Dr Nok Snes. Loving the retro gaming on the go.
Witter. Decent twitter client
ecoach. Used for recording my biking stats.
Flashlight. Awesome torch

I want more levels for angry birds as well, this is annoying but other than that I have no complaints tbh. In 4 months I have never thought 'oh, Imreally need portrait mode for this' and have rarely browsed in portrait. Buying a second battery and a plug-in external charger was just the way forward and given the extra advantage of letting the device restart regularly, something it likes.

where do you get witter from?

Still waiting on getting my phone back from Nokia. :(

Just hope your USB bit doesn't break guys.

Me too man. When did you send yours? I sent mine on Monday, received by Nokia Tuesday, was hoping for a week turnaround, I guess I was being optimistic. Did you send the microusb itself? I lost mine.

Will make calls but wont do SMS or mobile internet for me today. : /

From my experience T-Mobile aren't great, at least in the South East

Yep - I can confirm this as well, in peak times (weekday evenings and weekend afternoons and evenings) my n900 cant even connect to load any web page. It reports a 3.5G connection, but every web page just times out  Central london is OK, but when i get home, no web, every day. Outside peak times, it is ok...

Most used apps since I got the phone end of Nov

the console - ssh to my jumpbox and then I can connet to all my switches, for me, on a phone, that is just so cool
The multi tasking - it works so well
pixelpipe - makes it so easy to post anything online
conversations widget - brilliant integration along with hermes which made things so simple
ecoach - record my bike journey to work
RSS reader - no expanation needed
PDF reader - handy for all my datasheets
the micro-b browser, best mobile browser I have ever seen
gpodder - great for podcasts - love the online sync
wireshark - cos its cool and my job

suprise app - fbreader - I read an 800 page book using this, my first ever e-book, and didn't find it annoying and didn't really miss having the paper version, which was a suprise. The screen size was fine as well..

All in all, this is the best phone I have ever owned

n900 has flash 9.4 (i think its .4) flash 10.1 will be on in but when is another question.

n900 does not have java runtime, but there is a workaround which allows you to install java apps, i have opera mini5 (dont use it but for testing)

you can install a debian linux OS like a VM and have java if you need

Recieved by nokia a week last Friday. No progress made.

My micro-usb didnt actually fall out, just stopped working. Apparently Nokia are sending refurbs out at replacements at the minute too, so I'll be going over mine with a magnifying glass when it arrives. Not massively worried though, mine had a wee scratch on the metal screen surround, so if the one I get back doesn't, I'll be happy.

Is it bad that I'm more annoyed that I'll have to buy another order another Invisi-shield, than I am about not having the phone for over a week and a half?

Might sell it when it gets back tbh, if they're going to take this long on fixing the USB problem, and its a common issue, I really don't want to have to go through this nonsense again.

Its horrible when they go wrong, my xperia broke and it took 2 months of complaining to actually get one that was in the same condition mine was in when i sent it in to be fixed, I was annoyed over loosing hte screen protector too.

I connected my N900 to my router and in the bottom corner of my Media player screen is a link to my PopCorn Hour. Now I can stream mp3's etc from my pch to my phone. :)

Sonic on the N900, and people say the phone is poo :)

How do you install the picodrive........deb file?? Ive tried it with AppsManager and it wont install
