Best Windows for Video?

Well ive tried Windows xp sp2, sp3, home, windows 7 for video,

The problem i have had is the onboard audio keeps going wrong with which ever windows ive used, windows 7 most of the time doesnt like 5.1 surroud sound,

I will be reinstalling my windows in like 4-5 days and want know what next version to try next?

I'll bet money that the problem isn't with Windows. Stick with Windows 7 and describe the exact issue you are having.

well the problem with windows 7 is that there is no real 5.1, its basicly fill audio so everywhere the same.

Using what source? I get full 5.1 with DVDs. Again it's nothing to do with Windows.

im using a gigabyte ud2 motherboard and has realtek, i read somewhere they not got it sorted yet but might of just been me, i tried loads of differnt programs to see if it was that

For me XP gives me the best video output when watching stuff (movies etc)
It looks worse on win7 (more blocky etc)

That's nothing to do with the OS.

So is the issue with the Realtek driver then?

Have you tried using AC3 filter? That has helped my get a true digital passthrough to the Amp for movies.

There are known issues with Realtek drivers, so It's possible it could be them. As I don't have the same hardware I can only recommend you Try a dedicated sound card. Preferably not a creative one because they have pretty bad drivers too.
