its opinnions like this that leads to people, to quote peter kay "on fire at the back of the cinema, but no ****er will go and tell somebody."

We british are terrible for it, everybody rubbernecks, but when its time to actually take action and be morally responsible, nobody does it.

You only have to look at documentaries that show stages scenes of somebody in distress, and people walking on by and not taking any interest just thinking its not there problem.

You would do something, pull alongside the driver and beep your horn like crazy and signal for him to stop, or something to get his attention and get him to stop.

That's great and all, but what would make you think a maniacal truck driver would stop just because some nobody civilian wants them to

He says he is the police though, but normal police don't patrol motorways, do they have jurisdiction there?

Thats not the point

You tried. You dont just sit back and say "ah its not my issue. He wouldnt listen to me anyway" If people stopped rubbernecking and actually tried to help, maybe they could do something.

How do we know the truck driver wasnt asleep and you beeping the horn would have woken him up ? how do we know that you beeping your horn and weaving about in front of him etc.. wouldnt cause him to stop ??

You never know unless you try. All too easy not to take any responsibility and sit back and watch things happen when you could be making a difference.

The lorry is also a MLM.

But I would have tried to get in front of it aswell. Have a powerful enough car to do so. Wouldn't want to try it in a similar car that's getting ploughed :p

Also the driver needs a 10 year prison sentance aswell for being an utter moron.

This is exactly what happened to my mum a long time ago, lorry pushed the car sideways for 1mile before stopping. Lorry came down a slip road onto motorway, caught back end of car as it merged without seeing and cause it to go sideways infront of the lorry.

Lucky no injuries at all, its REALLY lucky the car didnt dig in and roll, hopefully this was the case for these poor souls to !

The only way the driver would have heard your horn would be if your front end was in line with his cab. Maybe you beep and he decides to divert his attention to ramming you through the central reservation into the oncoming fast lane?
Stupid idea. Don't mess with what you can't handle.

I wouldn't be doing it as a Police Officer, I'd be doing it as someone who is trying to do the decent thing. You assume that they are doing it purposefully. If they didn't slow down I'd get out of the way, I wouldn't compromise my personal safety for it that would be stupid. If it was an accident then my actions could potentially save a life, I'd have to at least try. Either way I'd be getting all the emergency services to attend.

My reaction was to go in front and try to slow he truck down pull him over etc, but possibly you'd have an issue with then having a stationary vehicle / lorry in the middle of the road, which could potentially be an even bigger disaster situation ?

and the caption pic above. :D:D

!. How did that even happen?
2. How did he not notice it happen?
3. How did the guy not notice a clio beeping it's horn, the probably horrible road noise, or his lights suddenly not working.
4. I wonder how far the clio went before the tyres went completely or the guy died of a heart attack.
