Anyone else use this?

I have been using it the last month or so and have found I have saved money! Bike runs a lot better on it as well in the higher revs. Also I get more miles out of the stuff, I have got 130 on my tank so far, need to fill up this morning, but still, normal would be 110 on normal unleaded for me.

Thoughts?

I know a lot of people that race well tuned retro vw's at santa pod and they swear by it, around .2 of a second on a quarter mile in a mk2 golf gti

I use BP Ultimate, and it does make a difference in my car, I was skeptical at first, but reading up on it quite a few cars are mapped/tuned/created whatever for german fuel which I believe is higher than the usual 95 RON is that right?

I definitely get about 3-4mpg more. If it's some sort of voice in my head making me drive less aggressively I don't know. But if I'm getting that increase it's fine with me :D

Shell V-Power, I use it - my car is mapped for it, I never used to use it until the previous owner of my car went into great detail explaining that it is refined differently to say crap fuel from Tesco!, although you will only notice the benefits after using it for 2-3k miles (or so i'm told), in a nutshell cleaner fuel, cleaner internals (that drain a little power)

Only trouble is finding a shell garage in a unknown area (thank god for the iphone)

Cost per litre / mpg * 100 = cost per mile

If you know what your car does on regular and on super, performing the above in a spreadsheet for both fuels would show whether the price difference is outweighed by the extra economy (if any).

But that's not the point, the point is the fuel is cleaner and provide better component life and performance over a period of time when used regularly. My car is happier on V-Power too.

I tried running the car with both standard and V-Power Diesel and i've found that the extra cost of V-Power is covered by a gain in MPG.

So I use it anyway, it makes it sound less agricultural and it's "supposed" to be better for the internals, if it costs the same overall then it's no problem with me.

All fuel in this country is ****, and most of the time, all the fuels are the same, just with different additives.

Ie. A Super market fuel isn't going to have all the great additives, that your local Shell garage will, but the base fuel is still the same, as they will be supplied from the same depot/refinery.

I don't really have a choice as mine is specifically mapped for it.

I suppose I could use Tesco, but theres not really much price difference where I am.

God you had to say you own an iPhone you couldn't simply say phone.......................................

If you have it, flaunt it (as he types this on his iPhone ;))

On a more serious note I have been using V-Power (originally Optimax) for about 9 years now and I think the extra cost is worth the increase in mpg/power etc. Obviously if you have a Turbo in the car (like mine says Super only 98 RON) that helps :D

Only iPhone owners seem to do it, us Android owners just laugh and carry on as normal :D

I might try running my car on it for a bit (never tried it with this one), the Shell garage that was local to me was taken over by BP about 4 years ago now, so I'll have to drive out about 7 miles to get to a Shell garage I think.

Last few cars I have had have always had BP regular fuel in them (in my ownership), and I do mean always BP too, never deviated :)
