Richad Hammond's Invisible Worlds

I really enjoyed this program with one small exception....Richard hammond.

I like Hammond i really do but why wheel him out everytime there is something slightly scientific that needs a front man, and lets face it his little annoying face is just that, annoying.

And how many times did he really need to say "and we were able to bring you this amazing footage because of advancements in slow motion photography" blah blah boring, just show us the good stuff would you.

I hope the next 2 episodes go into even greater detail than the first one.

if you like slow mo stuff, guns explained, cannons etc, download lock n loaded, such a good tv series and great presenter.

going to watch this 2nite, bbc:iplayer HD

I watched the first 20 minutes of it last night and switched it off, I though it was terrible, let's make a program with (presumably) an hour of high speed camera footage and call it a documentary.

Also did Hammond actually got to many of the locations? I know he was at the quarry, but did he appear in the rest of the show on location or was it more footage of him playing at the fairground?

You started watching a program about invisible worlds and switched it off because there was too much footage of invisible worlds?

Why oh why do they let Richard Hammond do these type of programmes now because he's awful?
He's Ok on Top Gear but keep him away from everything else.

Meh, he's fine for this imo. It was never going to require someone that is convincing in the scientific knowledge stakes. Saying he's awful is a bit crass, because he is in fact pretty good at presenting.

I quite like Hammond as a presenter, he makes everything a little more light hearted.

I liked the footage, but Hammond's presenting sounds way too scripted and I find it a bit annoying. He works well with the top gear crew but on his own he's a bit meh. James May is a much better presenter.

I think he can sound a little patronising, though that's probably due to the scripting more than him.

I agree that James May is the better presenter

Agree entirely.

Watched it on HD BBc iPlayer, t'was ok.

The bit when you see the shockwave in the air from the gunpowder blast was amazing, one of those things that just made me go "wow"!

Good photography ruined by an inane commentary from an intrusive presenter. They should either tell us stuff, or just STFU and show us the videos without explanation; not this mid-point where the commentary is as useful as the average sports commentary. I didn't notice: would this by any chance be a co-production with the Discovery Channel?
