why is delivery SO expensive!

Not sure why people make a deal of free delivery or loyal customer pap, every website i use offers free del, they offer it to stay competative. Dont get me wrong i use it but dont see the fuss of ZOMG free del now days :):D

OCUK dont have a condition like having to post every month, once you get those 250 posts and have a 3 month old account, you have free delivery forever, unless it changes :)

Another place I recently wanted free delivery at requires 30 posts per month, so I stopped posting after realising. I post as I like out of interest, not just to meet a minimum requirement for the loyalty scheme.

Well, I ordered a HDD other week and had to pay postage. Yes, I should have had FREE postage. When I went to the pay page there was nothing there to tick for free postage. Bought two other HDD elswhere and had FREE postage. Time for Overclockers to WAKE UP!
Not only that, I'll say again, OCUK prices are Sky High these days.

Have you ordered with free postage before?

This could have been a glitch on the OCUK system, I saw one a few weeks ago where me and others couldn't buy with free delivery, but it was resolved in minutes.

I suggest that if it happens again that you send a webnote before buying.

Its not hard to get enough posts for free delivery, look at my post count in two months!

Its not all spam either!

The delivery is quite expensive. I bought a new HDD a few weeks ago and adding on like £7 to a £60 item makes it worth shopping elsewhere. The cheaper the item the more ridiciulous the delivery is really, its not like it makes a difference when its a £500 order ^^

I have spent around £10k over 5 years with another computer company and I still have to pay £9.99 for next day. Suffice to say, I haven't used them for 2-3 project/builds now, plainly because they don't offer any loyalty deals. They haven't caught on, like another computer company .. Maybe i'll post 250 posts soon and become a loyal OcUK spender. :)

I think loyalty schemes are a great idea and people only have so many hours in the day. Makes sense to promote your own associated community. OcUK forums are where I usually obtain information when I'm trying to decide on what to buy:cool:

this is a great idea, just bought about 7 items totalling about £1600 would have been a nice saving on the postage, might wait a wee bit now as £8.95 saving to get free next day is worth it these days:(;)

Delivery to Northern Ireland is quite expensive. Unfortunately as a result of this there's some smaller items that work out too expensive to purchase from OcUK :(

Ah, I guess OCUK sign agreements with just one courier to try and get it cheaper? Though it is common to get a royal mail option and a courier option. I remember reading OCUK releasing a statement and giving members a vote on how which courier they should choose but this is going back a long time.
