Floor Standers for £150ish

I have a Sony DG520 amp that I bough about 2 years ago and to be honest i've never really used it, so I thought its time to make the best of it.

At the moment I'm only looking for a pair of floor standing speakers to sit either side of my tv unit. I have considered other speakers on stands, but with a 6 year old treating my wooden floors like an ice rink i'd prefer something more sturdy.

So yeah, decent budget floor standers around £150? Is it possible to get ones that give a good movie experience without breaking the bank? It's not exactly a fancy amp with big output power, but for my needs its fine. I don't really listen to music in the house, so really just want them for films/tv etc.
Basically just looking for someone in the know that'd recommend the best place to put my cash.

Something 2nd hand from Mission/Acoustic Energy/Q Acoustics/Kef/Mordaunt/Monitor Audio.

All the usual suspects really :p. Very much worth going 2nd hand at this price point imo. You could pick up some Q Acoustics 1030i's for that I guess, but as with most floorstanders really sub £500 you'll still probably need a decent sub to get the most from them.

Good shelfmounts on quality stands can be just as sturdy, any spiked stands you can fill with sand will be just as steady as floorstanders I reckon.

EDIT: For movies, a centre speaker is a must.
 
I'd recommend my floorstanders, they are mordaunt short MS 206's they're a few years old but sound fantastic (if you get them positioned correctly) and they are regulary on ebay for >£50 I picked mine up for £33 in mint condition.

yeah plenty of good deals second hand to be had, but i live north of aberdeen and most you see are "local pickup only"
