Guys,

Bit of advice if you pls...

Wanting to upgrade my graphics card in the next 2 weeks so after some advice on what would go into my system pls?

My spec is; E6850@3ghz, Gigabyte P35C-DS3R, 6 gig ram DDR2, and a NVidia GForce 8800GTS; monitor is a Dell 2407WFP - all on Wndows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Dont have a budget in mind presently (but it wont be too high!), just wondering if any of the new ATI kit would go in my box, or would peeps recommend upgrading board/ processor too?

TIA!

ATI 5850 is a good option, or you could wait til the end of the month when the new nVidia cards are released to see how things look.

Lol :) Fermi is close, if you can wait then wait but it's anyone guess at this point what the price/performance will be.

5850 is a nice choice and not too pricey :)

fwiw I've just gone for a 5850 upgrade. Looks like I have a pretty similar set up to you, a E6750 @ 3Ghz.

Thinking about bumping that up some more as it's only at 72C max load :)

The 5850 arrived today, the difference over the gts250 is night & day. I was worried that I'd be bottlenecking on my cpu for bc2, but it runs like a dream :D

Oh and the powercolour dirt2 edition of the card also comes with a modern warfare 2 steam code.
