Yup, it was a preventative measure. I also took the opportunity to have the crankcase ventilation valve/oil seperator replaced as well as I figured that was probably about ready.

Total cost including parts for both CCV and VANOS seals was just under £400.

Well I am waiting for my V5 to come back with my private plate retention......it's been 8 working days and I am starting to get frustrated as I can't progress with my car situation until this comes back!
