Cyclists seem to be really touchy and lack a sense of humour it seems.
I'm all for running them off the road if they're not using the provided cycle lanes, it'd be their own fault then
I'm all for smashing off a few wing mirrors when cars drive in my cycle lane or cut me up. All good fun. I have no sympathy for cyclists that run red lights though.
As for cyclists (and bikers) being touchy about it, it's probably because it feels like dozy cars are trying to kill you every day, and it kind of gets a bit wearing after a while
I dunno, I don't feel overly touchy about it, and lets be honest the main danger to bikers seems to be bikers themselves...

I ****ing hate cyclists (in London - who don't obey the highway code and cause a danger to themselves needlessly).
I'm sure you "****ing hate" motorists and pedestrians who don't obey the highway code and cause a danger to themselves needlessly too.
Cycling would be great without muppet car/van/lorry drivers who don't know the highway code and assume the road is for them alone. And I speak as a cyclist who can quite happily maintain a good speed, not one of those muppets who wobbles all over the place doing 4 mph. I also drive by the way.

Shocker. Cyclists are offended by someone saying they should be run over. Try the same segment replacing the word cyclists with 'Jews' or 'blacks'. Not so funny then is it?

If you need them to pull over for you to overtake, then it's not safe for you to do so as you obviously cant see the road ahead. Wait, and don't be an idiot with someone elses life.

I'm a cyclist. I don't care what he says. He's obviously not serious, but I'd guess there was genuine vitriol towards cyclists from him.
The thing that gets me is there are idiots everywhere. In cars, on bikes etc, and a lot of the time it just seems as if cyclists are targeted more. It does wear a little thin when the highway code following cyclists, who're doing 20mph+ and not disrupting traffic too bad are still getting all the grief.
I always cycle a meter from the curb. Tends to really annoy the most impatient motorists. I guess what they fail to appreciate is all the **** in the gutter, the drains, the morons opening car doors into traffic (been hit by a guy in a Lexus doing this, ended up with a fractured elbow) and God knows what else. It's safer to cycle slightly further out. Usually because it makes the drivers behind think about you before they attempt to pass. If you're in the gutter just about a lot won't drop speed and just fly by leaving no space. Not fun.
Apart from the completely incompetent motorists\cyclists, pretty much ALL road accidents are down to impatience. The amount of times I see normal, well adjusted people get into cars then become rude, aggressive morons because they think they're protected in their 1 tonne metal box is ridiculous. Make all motorists cycle for a week and we'd get somewhere.
