Asus rampage III Extreme

Hay guys,

I've been reading that the layout of the motherboards components, Expasion slots, SATA ports etc is important and can cause problems with some hardware not fitting properly because another card is too close to the expasion slot you want to put another card in or is in the way because of its size, or some of the SATA ports aren`t accessible because some of the Expasion Cards fited are in the way.

Does anyone know if i`ll have any problems fiting all the hardware componants i've listed below to this board???

Thanks for responding.

1. Possibly two Graphics Cards in SLI.

2. one PCI Express Sound Card.

3. one PCI TV Card.

4. one SATA Blu-Ray Optical Drive.

5. one SATA-III 6Gb/s SSD.

6. three 1TB SATA-II Hard Drives.

Hmm, I wish I just held off until this board got released, as I have yet to get any proper use out of the R2E, it's sat in the back of a cupboard atm waiting for my case panels to be returned..

Will the Coolermaster RC-1100 Cosmos S case be ok??? Because i`m planning getting this case.

just check the dimensions to the case, i am sure it can but just double check.

VK, any updates on the board?

Yer that sucks, although at the moment i cant see many differences, you wont see much of a difference between the R2E and the R3E untill more sata 3 6gb/s hdd's and more USB 3 comes out other than that there realy isnt much difference except the new bluetooth featyure which will probably have some problems :P

there are a lot of differences when you consider the the number and layout of the pci slots.
when running 2 cards in cf on the r2e there is no space between the cards to allow air circulation because the bottom pci is not full speed! hence if you are only going to use 2 cards in cf then the pci layout on the p6td deluxe is better!

I just wish ASUS would get in gear and put it on their website at least and list the release date. They showed it at CES, Cebit, yet still no official word

The only thing I dont like about my current gigabyte board is the terrible slot layout, this one has a perfect slot layout and should have better OC features.

Built in blutooth too! go go media remote phone =D

I'll let you guys know what it's like within two week ;)

Get me one too, thank you =P
