EA follows Ubisoft, will sell titles with 'always on' DRM

I have cracks for each and every one of my games.
Usually they only have the simple NO CD crack, and this is really only down to the fact that when I buy a new game, I grab an ISO of it, save the ISO on my FileServer and mount the ISO on the PC whenever I need to install.
This means that the original games are all in absolutely mint condition should I need to ever use them
And of course the NOCD crack avoids me wrecking the disk just to play it.
So, yes, I have downloaded hundreds of games, and absolutely every single one of them is cracked in some way, but guess what? At this very moment in time, while every bit of software in my PC is currently cracked in some way, I have the originals all here.... Even my Windows installation are all cracked versions that have by-passed the activation, and thats only because I dont see why I should have to activate a copy of software that I have bought and paid for just because the biggest andwelthiest company on the planet are too paranoid about piracy, that lets be honest is costing them well below 0.001%

I've already made the decision to not buy any future Ubisoft games, do I really have to do this with EA too
Activision is off my list due to MW2
Ubisoft haven't really made any games I'm interested in but their latest DRM moves have put me off them forever
EA I was turned off awhile ago but they were just starting to look a bit better and now this...
I know this is getting ridiculous. Still havent bought MW2, dedicated servers are such an integral part of pc gaming that I just cant support that game. Like wise
Ive steered clear of AC2 and SH5 because I mainly play single player games on the laptop when Im without a net connection.
I can see where the publishers are coming from, piracy on pc is rampant and the games are so easy to download and crack but there really has to be a better way. Id really rather they didnt bother at all than force this **** on us.
Is piracy really that rampant or have some gamers simply gone over to console hence lesser sales figures for the PC.

Sure we may see posts on news sites that 10,000 copies of such and such of a game was downloaded from a torrent but i bet 99.99% of people who grabbed it have no intention of buying the game anyway.

EA are doing this because they want people to pirate/not buy their games, so they can complain and blame it all on piracy and use it as good reason to release less games on PC or think up worse more invasive DRM.
You wouldn't think they were such a large and successful company, they appear to have very little business sense.
A rubbish game with great marketing will sell better than a good game with poor marketing.

If EA didn't think it was worth masking pc games any more (despite thier most successful franchise being on the pc) they would just stop making them.
If you approach your share holders and say Right we want to spend tens of millions and sabotage our own image so we can reduce our presence in the pc market.
You will be shown the door faster than you can blink.
This is the reality, they know people will buy the shiney new game in droves anyway, this just means that they think they're maximising the revenue for a title. Each person that plays it, must have paid the price.
Totally forgetting that quite a few modern games aren't that long and people sell their old games to fund their new ones.

I am pretty relaxed about DRM. If the game's worth playing, then I can tolerate a bit of inconvenience. But this, for me, is a step too far. I'm sure it won't be the last step either, and I do think it's part of an industry-wide move to make people shift to consoles for gaming.
Still, on the bright side I guess this might eventually (and many, many years too late
force me to grow up and stop gaming, because I've never owned a console in my life and don't plan on doing so. I am allergic to gamepads.

Oh well, that's given me something to think about for Dead Space 2.
The lack of a fully working and freely available crack for AC2 is quiet good. It provides a good life lesson for some of downloader’s who haven't ever worried about being deprived of the latest game they would have got for free.
Although I hope the system does get cracked eventually so we can return to a less Draconian DRM. But I imagine this is the start of the MMO style mechanic and will become worse in the future.

PC second hand gaming is all but gone and now all they do is hit hard pirates. Do I think that there will be more quality games because of the new DRM, I don't think so. All that these companies want to do is maximise profits. Good games will always sell well no matter what DRM is used.
Well tbh, I can't see this being a problem with some games (Battlefield 3 for example) but with single player focused games, it'll force quite a lot of people to go and download it illegally or crack it.
I know quite a few people who have dodgy connections, one in particular who has trouble with his ISP's in Ireland.
