As per thread title really. Kind of a communal kick up the backside to get motivated in to getting up early.

More details on the LifeHack Website.

I've set myself a target of 06:00 - So far I've managed 07:30 today. Not bad for day one.

If you blog about it (and post your blog on the LifeHack page) they may pick your blog to be featured. Should bring a few visitors if you're picked.

A long long time ago an Old boy called Joe Beck told me that if you get up early enough you can do a days work by mid day leaving the afternoon & evening to Double your earner or enjoy your life.
I Live by it.

R.I.P Joe.

I get up at 7am every weekday. If I got up at 6am I would sit around waiting to leave for work doing nothing worthwhile. I would rather just use that hour sleeping.

Thanks for this, just the motivation I need! Ideally need to wake up at 6am to get to the gym in central, yet I never seem to do it day after day... :p

surely early is only relative to the life you lead? I'm up just before 7 every day, if I have more things than usual to do before work I'll be up earlier. You still need as much sleep if you get up earlier so you're just going to go to bed earlier, you're just taking time from one end of the day and adding it to the other, you don't get any magical extra time

I'm up 6:45 every day anyway, light comes through the kids bedroom curtains and I have no choice but to be awake :D

Same here only I need to get some cycling training in...

I don't need as much sleep as I am getting now. It is just a bad habit I want to break. Also getting up early and going to bed at a reasonable hour is better for you.

Those that either like getting up at the time they do or already get up early don't have to do the challenge!

Hahah, i put blackout blind in the little-uns bedroom and that gives me until my alarm (7.15) on weekdays, and a whapping 7:30 if im lucky at weekends. It sadly doesnt stop the 6am singing if she wakes anyway :(

I need to start getting up earlier.

1) I've moved in with my bloke whose alarm goes at 7am.
2) I'm starting teacher training this Autumn: School = earlier mornings!

I've roped the bloke into helping me achieve it, I've managed to persuade him to make me a coffee while he brews his morning cuppa, and bring it to me in bed.

I start to wake up more then, because a) otherwise the coffee will go cold, and that's a waste - and b) after a coffee first thing in the morning, you NEED to get up for a wee!

Otherwise I've tended to have my alarm go at 8:30, and then sometimes snooze it until 9...

If I got up any earlier than 7am I would sit at the window looking for unsuspecting people walking by that I could hit with a paving slab :p

Looks very good, i'm going to try it! I start work at 8.30am, and wake up at 8am-ish every day. Occasionally 7.45, never earlier. And certainly struggle if it's at 7.45am!

Last 2 days however, 6.30am to take the dog out (i'm looking after). I HATED getting up - but my my, the amount of time I had in the mornings for breakfast, tidy up etc.. Was awesome!
