I must say Huddy, perhaps I am not really suited to debates like this as my views are sometime hypocritical.

In the case of David Bieber, I would have happily watched him swing from a rope.

She also bears a striking resemblance to ten-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman."

"When they got to him he was shouting, 'The ******* had it coming. I want everybody to know me as the guy who killed Huntley'."

What a hero.

He said: "He did it for Holly and Jessica and I'd like to pat him on the back. Most people will think Damien is a hero. I think he should be given a medal. The only pity is he didn't do a better job."

I vote strip the George cross from that dead soldier that defused 70 IEDs and give it to this knife point robbing junkie.

^^ This will be the Real reason he attacked him, Just to get "Respect" :rolleyes: from the other Convicts.
Same as when Sutcliffe was attacked, The Dude only did it to Impress Reggie Kray.
They are Criminals & should be treated as such.

At the end of the day though, we're all only human. We have our emotions, our failings, our weaknesses. Lots of us still process a reaction based on instinct, not on rational logic.

On one hand, it would greatly satisfy me to know IH had swung from a rope. On the other, I feel that him being scared for his existence every moment of his waking life is a pretty severe punishment.

To those who think that the state shouldn't take life because its 'barbaric' or 'cruel' - Isn't what we're subjecting IH to now infinitely MORE cruel than the death penalty?

I'm sure that's the way the parole board will see things. Nine years in prison has clearly done him the world of good, he's put his knife wielding maniac days behind him..........oh wait, no he hasn't.

How can anyone think this guy is a hero?

What else has someone got to do when they're probably facing life? May as well make themselves known so they don't get trampled all over themself

That's not to say he's not dangerous, nor am I underestimating the crime he is guilty of, but his jail sentence should be a safe place - both for the public, keeping him in custody and for Huntley himself. He can't be rehabilitated if he's being beaten everyday.

Fowkes, a former drug addict who was jailed for life in 2002 for a knifepoint robbery, allegedly attacked Huntley with a razor blade attached to a toothbrush a day before a planned search of their prison for weapons.

The prison was put in to lockdown for three days yesterday to allow staff to search for weapons. The operation was pre-planned following an attack on three prison officers last week but has fuelled suggestions Huntley's attacker acted before risking his homemade weapon being discovered.

They said it was a sharpened plastic knife yesterday. :confused:
 
At first glance, a toothbrush with a razor blade attached to it could quite easily look like sharpened plastic. That'll have been some prison officer they managed to interview or something on the day.
 
They should just do it like the end of the film 'Big stan' but minus the dancing. Leave a bunch of weapons about accidental and then let them fight to the death. If you win, you're prize is your life !
 
Shame that the guy who attacked him didnt actually do the job properly;)....scumbag is still alive...i say lock him in a room with Venables and do it SAW style ie exploding headbraces with locks at the back...the keys in each others stomachs....let them kill themselves trying to save their own lives.
