New car - Z4 M Roadster

Pre iDrive sat-nav in this isn't worth having imho and as Fox says sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb.

How does it stick out like a sore thumb? It's a flip up/down screen not a big hump like in an e60 or not in an ideal place like an e46/e39.

I'd beg to differ with the 'not worth having' as well, Its good not only for navigation but ipod control (with Intravee), MP3 CD changer control, TV/DVD etc. etc. Maybe its one of those things that if you've had then you can't really do without. I had nav on my e46 before my Z4 and nav was a definite must have for me, especially with the Intravee.

The Sat Nav is certainly worth having, but probably not a game breaker. IMO it doesn't stick out, and it seems to fit the interior quite well.

I think you'll probably find he didn't get much change from £20,000 - and probably no change from £20,000 if he bought from a dealer.

I really want the Z4M, but I could only afford a 3.0i - so I am jealous :)

Got to agree with Wicksta here. It really doesn't stick out at all and its in the perfect postion IMO.

Like has already been said, its more than just a sat nav screen aswell as the things that have alreasy been mentioned its also extremely good with the bluetooth/phone prep. You can use the screen to search through contacts and make calls.

Personally I wouldn't get another one without the sat-nav but its not something you would miss if you'd never had one before.

You omitted the price, was that on purpose?

No, I am at work which makes browsing quite difficult, sorry for that.

I got the car for £18,295. Insurance was £1390 for 12 months fully comp in my name. Warranty was £790 for 12 months with BMW. Thanks to the "no sat nav", I managed to get a decent price for this. I will need to do the discs at some stage, but that is reflected in the price. I paid outright for all of this, before this descends into a financial advice thread!

Great buy, I'd blag a ride if I was at the meet this weekend but the caribbean for 2 weeks is far more appealing ;)

Let us know the price, and have you sold the Z?

The 350z has gone yes :(

Imola Red > * although it doesn't look great when it's dirty. Must clean mine!

Yeah it's looking quite dirty at the moment, really need a proper clean.

Here's my lunch hour roof down (rubbish parking skills.....) :p

That doesn't seems like a bad price for one of these. I'm sure those works won't be cheap though! I definitely want a closer look at this on Saturday...

Awesome, I always look at these on Pistonheads when I'm thinking about something a little more civilized after the Exige. Will have a good nosey around on Saturday :)

Neil.

Very nice, a friend sold his before going travelling in Oct for £20k. 14 months before he paid £29k. I guess you are reaping the benefit of this depreciation ? :D

I know what you mean about the noise, it sounded awesome. Gearchange is a bit clunky on it though.

I was in convoy with a red Exige on the way home last night which was very loud and he gave me a thumbs up.

I will admit freely, that an exige had come into mind in my decision process, but I am too used to creature comforts. Wouldn't mind checking out your car Saturday too!

Gearchange is notchy, but satisfying. The popping of the exhaust is just awesome with the roof down :)

I am buying my way out of the recession! I have the receipt for £50,000 for the car from new.....4 years later, I get to enjoy it for a very reasonable price.

Personally, the shape of them isn't my cup of tea. Having said that, it is just a personal opinion and that is a fantastic car and one I'm sure you'll love. Love the colour!

Update

Just went outside the office to get my phone, found another 2 speakers on my travels....confirming that I actually have the 10 speaker sound system in there, result! :)
