Well, it certainly looks better than the clown shoe that came before it, but the lights/grille are still butt-ugly and the nose droops too far, it looks like it's sagging with old age.

Surely this car has been out for years? Just not in the UK.

This. If you read the article you will see the redesign is just flaired arches and stuff on an already existin saloon version of the Impreza, and like the previos models, it is unlikely this one will come to the uk either.

Don't like it tbh, boot is too stubby. Looks like those crappy european hatch-saloons like the Focus or Megane saloon.
Prefer the hatch, but prefer the GD to that, and prefer the GC to that.

Just what is this countries obsession with hatchbacks?

They are versatile and people like them? That's why I will always buy a hatch over a saloon. I accept it's not to everyone's taste, but they must sell plenty or they wouldn't offer them would they?

I saw loads in Australia. Kept wondering why we only get the crap hatchback. Just what is this countries obsession with hatchbacks?

Well they are far more practical if you carry big things about, but its a performance car...who wants to carry fridges/tumble dryers and that crap in one of those?

It does seem like very much a UK/EU thing though. Just 2 examples but over here we got the hatchback Civic (the Rover one) instead of the Civic Ferio, and the Carisma instead of the Lancer. Those were for the EU market only, everybody else prefers their saloons.
