Oh. My. God.
Just registered on the ATI site so I could post about their failed drivers.
All goes well. I am now logged in on the ATI site. Click on the link to the forums and it takes me there but it doesnt keep me logged in. Click log-in and it takes me back to the ATI main site log-in page. I log-in, click forums and it takes me back there again but not logged in. And the whole process repeats in an endless loop the result of which is it seems impossible to actually make it onto the forums while still logged in.
*bangs head on desk*
Managed to sort the forum thing eventually. No clue what was wrong there but it decided to work eventually.
As for the drivers, I'm now back to 9.11. I can at least have my profiles work properly (almost) with these drivers.
I still can't have my second monitor, which is a Dell P790 CRT, to use the 72Hz @ 1600x1200 setting which I know for a fact it supports. Now I'm far from being an Nvidia fanboy or whatever but I never ever EVER had a single issue setting up dual monitors with their drivers on my old 8800GT. Yet with the ATI drivers I've not once been able to use the above settings and all the drivers from 9.11 upwards have just completely screwed up my profiles.
I mean, isnt the fact that my second monitor being physically plugged into the secondary DVI port on the graphics card just a slight clue as to the fact that it is a secondary display and not the default main display which any drivers above 9.11 seem to think.
It really does amaze me how such a large and successful company can be so incompetent when it comes to drivers.
Ive had no issues yet................
