official cats 10.3

Well, in amazing ATI style. these drivers, like many before, are screwed.

I had to delete my old dual monitor profiles because for some strange reason these drivers like to make my secondary display the default primary montor. So, I created new profiles for switching on my 2nd monitor when I need it and lo & behold, this is what I get.

Epic fail yet again.

Back to 9.11 we go. Again.

Oh. My. God.

Just registered on the ATI site so I could post about their failed drivers.

All goes well. I am now logged in on the ATI site. Click on the link to the forums and it takes me there but it doesnt keep me logged in. Click log-in and it takes me back to the ATI main site log-in page. I log-in, click forums and it takes me back there again but not logged in. And the whole process repeats in an endless loop the result of which is it seems impossible to actually make it onto the forums while still logged in.

*bangs head on desk*

your doing it wrong :D

seriously tho, it works fine for me...

Managed to sort the forum thing eventually. No clue what was wrong there but it decided to work eventually.

As for the drivers, I'm now back to 9.11. I can at least have my profiles work properly (almost) with these drivers.

I still can't have my second monitor, which is a Dell P790 CRT, to use the 72Hz @ 1600x1200 setting which I know for a fact it supports. Now I'm far from being an Nvidia fanboy or whatever but I never ever EVER had a single issue setting up dual monitors with their drivers on my old 8800GT. Yet with the ATI drivers I've not once been able to use the above settings and all the drivers from 9.11 upwards have just completely screwed up my profiles.

I mean, isnt the fact that my second monitor being physically plugged into the secondary DVI port on the graphics card just a slight clue as to the fact that it is a secondary display and not the default main display which any drivers above 9.11 seem to think.

It really does amaze me how such a large and successful company can be so incompetent when it comes to drivers.

Ask around on the amd forum, there is a mod 'spyre2' he may be able to help you, I stress on the 'may' :p

According to the guys at guru3d, these are slightly older then the BETA going by dll versions. Probably the old beta which had a slight change, set to the WHQL for testing whilst it was then changed again to make 10.3a beta's.

I'm gonna give them a go regardless but will probably end up using the beta's
