Corsa VXR *facepalm*

Could he not have survived with about 40bhp less and gone for the SRi model...still using the 1.6t and saved around 6 grand

the sri corsa is a lot lower spec than the VXR though. So yes its cheaper but you pay for it. You wont get leather recaro sportster CS' as standard for example. And the corsa VXR seats are probably the best seats in the range.

You can get a brand new Corsa SRI 1.6T for 8.5k?!

The list price of a Corsa SRI 1.4 is £15,030.00 with no options and non metallic paint.

He could have course saved around 4k and bought a used VXR although 14.5k isn't a bad price when you consider the saving on list price.

Wouldn't have paid that for one, infact I would never buy one.

But I do like them, they have a sense of playfulness about them. Don't see the problem with it being a VXR just the price he paid. But each to their own.

£14.5k in my mind isn't a terrible price for a car like that. Corsas aren't my thing but I presume a Corsa VXR isn't slow, and new Civic Type-Rs were £17k odd brand new and I guess are in roughly the same sort of league? (correct me if I'm wrong)

It's quite a bit different anyway from touching £30k for a Focus RS, which is still a FWD hatchback.

Also, fundamentally, if people don't buy these cars brand new then there wouldn't be the "you can buy an M3 instead!" arguments in the first place. :)

Don't see a great problem as he has negotiated a good price compared to the 18k+ list price, one year old ones seem to be going around the 14k mark anyway.

Not my cup of tea but still a good car.

Other than buying brand new rather than 6-12months old, I don't think this is a bad decision at all. We're talking a pretty decent hot hatch here at the end of the day.

There's no such thing as worry free motoring. Especially with a car with a history of melting pistons.

Not so much of a big deal when you've bought the car brand new and have a 3 years manufacturers warranty, or whatever period it's for.

The Corsa Arctic is a VXR right? Not the same as the Vectra Arctic which was barely a step up from the base model.

Lmao sorry about that yeah it's a special edition vxr and is White with a black roof a number on the dash has black alloys and genuinely is very nice inside makes me giggle with childish laughter because it's a FUN car and is very loud and showey

People I know have driven them on VXR track days and general reports are that its a pretty good hot hatch and plenty of fun. Its not something I'd buy now as i've grown out of my hot hatch days, but go back 18 years or so and I'd have bought something like an Astra GSI with out hesitation if I had the money.

The Corsa VXR Arctic edition is a Corsa VXR with the following:

-Unique White paintwork (not available on the normal VXR)
-Black 18" Wheels
-Panoramic sunroof with the rear half of the roof painted black
-Unique number plaque (# out of 500)
-Other black finishing touches
-Remus Exhaust (loud and adds ~15PS)

Handling wise (and general interior wise) they are idenitical to the normal VXR which is to say; well kitted and reasonably well screwed together.
