Dear Forum,

What are the best 3 graphics cards out there that will not be bottlenecked by a q6600 clocked at 3.2ghz pls ?

ATI or Nvidia doesn't matter which family but SLI and Xfire wise my board only supports SLI.

It depends on what games you play really. But to be honest, I think you should just grab a HD5850 (and overclock it) or a 5830 if you can find one real cheap (say around £160).
In games llike older games like Crysis with a 5870, a i5 750 at 4.25GHz does give much higher frame rate than a Q6600 at 3.7GHz, the game wasn't optimized with Quad-core support (if I'm not mistaken). For new games that are coming out with Quad-core support, the Q6600 at 3.2GHz would hopefully not be way worse in performance than newer/faster CPU...should hopefully be able to provide consistence smooth playable frame rate, even if it is not as high as the like of i5/i7.

ok thanks :) i currently have a bfg 9800 gtx and in games like dirt2 i get around a constant 40 fps and other games like wow i peak at 200+ fps (both games all set on ultra) so you think that an ATI 5850 would increase the FPS even more? also was looking at the 5770 because it seems to be smaller in size then the rest of the graphics cards would that be worth to upgrade from my current gfx card as it also seems cheap

well tbh i was planning to as i currently have a 790i ultra sli mobo but i don't want to spend bucket loads of money to the 2x fermi gfx cards as soon as they come out dunno was thinking about buying a 295 gtx at first but it isn't dx 11 :/
 
Best thing to do is wait for Fermi prices, and see if ATI does a price cut.

If Fermi is too expensive for you, then get a 5850, it's what i would call the sweet spot atm.
 
ok so after the """nice""" results from fermi i guess 5850 is the best choice :P ... now maybe someone can help is there a way to turn my 790i ultra sli into XFire compatible ? :P ... i dont wish to change the mobo jst yet ... else i'll stick to jst 1 card
