Corsa VXR *facepalm*

Yeah that's the one he's got dude the Remus exhaut makes it sound AWESOME went you shift gears it makes an awesome popping noise

Feel I must comment on this thread lol.

I read forums all the time where someone starts a slanging session about the Corsa VXR and usually theres not many around to defend it...but this one is a little different which is good.

£14.5K for a Corsa VXR is actually a really good price if it was brand new.

You can only really slate a corsa VXR if you've driven one and if you've got balls enough to push it how its meant to be driven there really isn't much to be negative about. Its a great little hot hatch, I got 6.6 to 60 out of mine (completely standard) and dyno'd at 198bhp...now that is competition for the Renault lovers out there. Believe what you like but the handling is right up there too.

As for it being a Vauxhall...so what? I'd rather have a car that can **** all over a 30K Audi or BMW.

And the piston 4 issue?? If you do your research, although it has happened to a couple of standard cars where warrenty has covered it, most of them were actually re-mapped cars and if your gonna do that you can throw your warrenty out the window anyway.

Each to their own, but before slating it 'because its a Vauxhall' actually put your money where your mouth is and drive one!

Much love! :p

A Corsa driver and a Girl *CONFLICT OF INTEREST!* Do I **** her off for owning a Corsa or try and woo her with my internetz skillz?

What the hell, how did a woman get her account authorised on here.

Get this wench banned and most importantly off the computer and back into the kitchen! :D

On another point, get the car to Thorney, they can help you tune it up ;)

I do like the Corsa VXRs, not a car I would buy though, its a bit too chavvy for my taste.

Had a go in one whilst my old car was being serviced, a lot of fun!

Measured by what?

It's an OK car, but even with the savings mentioned, it's £14,500 on a Corsa! For heavens sake, that's ridiculous! You could get an Evo 8MR or even an Evo 9 for that and trounce most cars on the road, and I know where my money would be. In fact, I'd buy an 8MR for £12,500 and put the remaining £2000 toward running the thing.

I accept they may look chavvy to some of you older folk ;), but thats the great thing, the insurance is group 16 and its a £13K+ car so the 'chavs' can't afford them lol.

1/4 mile at Santa Pod.

It'd be wrong to think that the Evo is not a far superior car but we're talkin everyday use. Swings and roundabouts.

182.. a universally respected French hot hatch, nimble, agile and N/A.

VXR.. a garish hot hatch made by Vauxhall, quite heavy but a powerful turbo engine.

To a piston head there is only one answer.

This sums it up for me.

No one is saying its a terrible car, just that there is a fine line between a good car and a great car and in my opinion the VXR falls below that line....

and it will cost considerably more in insurance, and want servicing considerably more frequently

assuming your using it as a Daily Driver and doing 13/14k miles a year in it. You'll be paying on average £800 a year in services on a 40,000 mile 2nd hand Evo.

Compared with £150 for a minor service on the corsa (about £220 for a major) - both from a dealer.

Horses for corses and all that ...

14k+ for a brand new car with creaky trim panels and buttons? (like the one that was in the Newgate Lane showroom not long ago).

Hell naws!
