Bleh, trying to like this game, but half the servers are incredibly laggy/have cack hitreg (put 6 shots into a guy earlier with a sniper rifle body shot reasonably close and not one registered) and Im one of the ones who has a non-working server browser, which means I cant even sort the servers by ping properly.

REALLY irritating :(
Almost wish I'd held off picking it up now :(
 
I was in another server just now, (not ocuk). The same thing happened to me, black screen then back to the main game menu.

Same here in regards to the browser so I only go on the 3 ocuk servers for now as I have a good ping on all 3

if your on win 7 and probaly vista, right click the exe and run as admin. Had same problem with no pings, fixed it with the above.


I keep getting a lot of random dc's / crashes to desktop all the time, its a real pain.
 
I detest squad spawning really hope they make it a server option to have it on or not.
Getting sick of killing people then a guy randomly spawns behind me and kills me.
Wheres the skill in that it's just random bs.
 
Getting really sick of joining a game where every team im on dont have a clue. Then I have just realised that you have to recon the server for the first 2 minutes and join the best side like everyone else does. Team balance is ruining the game for me. Starting the get a bit fed up with it tbh. And starting the get fed up with fps's.
 
Yea not to mention 99% of servers not running punkbuster even when you apply the filter.

Strange that I do really well on punkbuster servers and get owned on ones where it's off.

I might sell the game on if there's no team balance or squad spawning off patch, this mechanic ruins the game turns it in to a console noob friendly fps.

it's one of the features of the battle field series, although it used to just be the squad leader.

otherwise with the large maps it would just be wave based which doesn't work with 16 people.

No it was in long before the consoles where even capable of runing half a battlefield game.

Maybe you should read up on a series before you buy into it ;)
 
Cant compare this to that game, in this it's just silly, even if you kill the last man they still spawn it's daft.

I've seen people just spawn from thin air no squad in sight.

Bit obvious really. No punkerbuster maybe ya coming up against cheaters.
 
Yes I am aware of squad spawning not being something new I started pc gaming in 1997.

Squad spawning isn't as bad on bf2 because the maps are bigger certainly a lot wider and there normally wasn't loads of squads all spawning off each other.

The main reason I think it's an issue is because of the time it takes to respawn maybe if they made respawn 30 seconds might help a bit.

Isn't there a bug where if you don't tick punkbuster then you do get punkbuster enabled servers?
 
At the moment it's still one giant cluster f imo needs many more restrictions such as squad spawn off a longer respawn time team balance before it's a solid fps for me personally.
I just don't like the idea of playing a fps where you can be killed simply because someones lucky enough to randomly spawn right behind you at the right time.
At the moment I am sticking to sniping from a great distance because I just rage quit when people randomly spawn behind me.
