Call Of Duty 7 will carry the name 'CoD: Black Ops' when it arrives in November, and feature missions set in various recent conflicts - including at least one as an SAS operative - according to online reports.

Hardcore CoD site Tek9 (spotted by MapModNews.com) cites 'undisclosed sources at Activision' as having confirmed the existence of 'Black Ops' - and a few alleged game details.

The report says that 'Call of Duty 7 will be set in recent history, between WWII and present day' and will feature missions in Cuba and South America among others - suggesting the title won't be solely set in Vietnam as previously thought.

The source also claims that in certain missions players are able to take control of a member of Britain's SAS. One of these SAS missions reportedly places you in close combat during a mission in the Iranian embassy in London during the 1980s.

According reportedly leaked information from 'undisclosed Activisions sources', the PC version of Call Of Duty 7 will be getting dedicated servers.

The lack of dedicated servers in last year's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 upset a small army of PC gamers.

According to Tek9's source, 'Call of Duty 7: Black Ops' will also feature the popular zombie mode from predecessor CoD: World At War, in which players get to shoot down hordes of the undead.

The site adds: 'Last but not least, dedicated servers will also be part of the new Call of Duty game, much to the delight of PC gamers across the world. After Activision fired Vince Zampella and Jason West from Infinity Ward, it seems like they are taking yet another step back from the direction they had taken with Modern Warfare 2 by re-adding dedicated servers."

it seems like they are taking yet another step back from the direction they had taken with Modern Warfare 2 by re-adding dedicated servers.

Step back? Step forward more like. I won't preorder this one, but I'll see how it goes, I may pick it up iof it has dedicated servers.

Cod frustrates me, I don't really want to buy their game, but ultimately I know that I will...

It's the same with car crashes, you don't want to look as you drive by, but always do.

Black Ops has me interested. If it plays anything like the co-op Spec-Ops missions in MW2 i'll be a happy bunny! They were the best bits of the game.

This is what people said about MW2, yet i just know many many people will buy it.

Main reason people said they wouldnt buy that was because of the whole dedicated servers fiasco, only reason i ever bought MW2 was purely the amount of my friends who were playing it at the time (ive not played it since the first 2 weeks it came out and probably never will now) once loads of people start playing it constantly and have no one to play with in there usual games (in my example i had no one to play css or l4d2 with) they jump on the band wagon

If thi comes with IW.net then it'll be another CoD game I won't buy on PC and I'll end up getting it on PS3 then selling it so Activision dont get any profit.

not spending a penny on anything related to Activision :)

Yup, all my friends have zero willpower and bought the game. All they did is complain about lag, none of the have played it since BC2 was released, so all is not lost!

Only (announced) FPS worth looking forwarded to is the new MoH as DICE are doing the multiplayer.

Not too interested in historic CoD games (In other words, I definitely prefered the modern warfare to the previous games). I'll be watching it closely though...

It's developed by Treyarch therefore I'm interested - W@W and United Offensive were both awesome :)

Didn't world at war have a HUGE boycott at one point? where everyone renamed the servers to boycott the game or something due to no patching of huge bugs?

If CODd 7 comes with dedicated servers i'll buy it. MW2 is quite annoying as most of the time you find yourself waiting to join a match only to find its very laggy
