Nintendo 3DS Announced

Unless they sort out online play I will not be buying this. A sort of XBOX Live for a handheld would be fantastic, however I cant see it happening on a Nintendo console. Sony maybe...
 
Ive said it before but i think they have learned their lessons when it comes to online play while i don't think you will get something as comprehensive as a xbox live the system will be better to use than what they have.

In all seriousness it sounds like a good idea. I'm all for pushing the glasses-free 3D tech forwards, I guess this will help.

Which will be pretty impressive on the dinky DS screens, especially if this 3D thing works.

Besides, Nintendo are not massively graphics focussed at present, and it's not cost them any sales...

Well this is why I wondered cause they don't seem bothered at all! I'd like to see gamecube power graphics on the go, might see some good remakes.

My brother has a PSP and I agree, the analogue stick is crap. But it can be done. I have a NeoGeo Pocket Colour, which has a small analogue stick, but by god it works soooooooooooooo well, much more than the PSPs - which was released circa 10 years after the NeoGeo! :eek:

This would be fantastic.

But I think Nintendo have lost the core gamers, even bringing out a metroid update wouldn't yield enough I don't think.

they need to keep in comparison with the other 2 consoles, in terms of raw power that is so that developers can develop for 3 platforms and not do a half baked job on one console.

above was stated in relation to the new 3DS and a new console.
 
Seen this on another forum -

This information comes from David Perry’s Twitter account…

“Excited about the Nintendo 3DS. I’ve got the Fuji 3D Camera with the same tech. It’s cool and I’ve been wanting to see it used for games.”

Perry is most likely referring to the FinePix REAL 3D W1 camera, which used a “Parallax Barrier System” to display 3D images. Since the 3DS was announced, the system has been rumored to be using similar technology. The only question is, can we trust Perry’s words completely? We’ll have to wait a little longer for a confirmation at Nintendo’s E3 presentation in June.
 
As long as every single game doesn't look like a cartoon or a pop out book then I'll be happy. Hopefully it will be producing some better looking games than the PSP currently does. I'm not all about graphics, and I realise Nintendo are more about the gaming experience than the technical benchmarks but if this is at least as powerful as the Gamecube then we could get some stunning games. Maybe a remake of Resident Evil but in 3D? :)
