Uma Thurman's New Film Smashes Box Office Records

She's never been in anything good, from what I recall she broke into hollywood by being a tall lesbian with big thumbs who learnt to masturbate while hitchhiking, and has gone on to do almost every awful summer blockbuster since she's been in the industry, horrible actress, really odd looking, terrible film choice still a millionaire, life really just isn't fair.

I honestly can't remember a good film with her in, Tarentino wrote a film she could quite happily have not uttered a word in, wasn't great, and could have had 98% of her role done by a stuntwoman, other than that, Super ex-girlfriend some odd thing, accidental husband or some trash, Batman and Robin, though to be fair most people would have thought a Clooney film would have been made good.

The trailer is very boring apart from 1 moment:
'' I'll shove my carbon footprint up your... ''
At the end.

I always like seeing someone taking the pee out of lefty green environmentalist moaners, even if it's fake :p.

Oh dear, it’s been a flop in the USA (released last October) and we (the UK) finally get to hear about it because its flopped here. ;)

She only had two good movies - Gattaca & Pulp Fiction - and they were good in spite of her, not because of her.

It is difficult to think of a more unpleasant looking woman in Hollywood today.

to be honest, even for a single showing in a single cinema to only get one person it must have had zero publicity. Which would suggest to me after the flop in america(which going by the scale could be the same idea as here), that they've actually aimed for it to make news by being a flop, thus gaining loads of free publicity.

Just seems hard to believe that a relatively big film could bomb quite so impressively. I'd never heard of it or seen the trailer until I heard this news story.

Interesting point.

Even if true (and I don't believe it for a minute), that obviously didn't work, did it? Free publicity or no free publicity, it's a commercial failure in both countries.

Clearly the only thing you get from advertising a commercial failure is a lot of bad press and another commercial faiure.

Commercial failure? I'd say that's yet to be judged in the UK, but I reckon the cost of putting on a weekend of showings at a single cinema will vanish into the profit from DVD sales as a result of this publicity. Not to say they'll make back the £3m/$5m it's said to have cost, but they obviously weren't even trying to make it a cinema success, otherwise they would have a) marketed it at all, b) put it on at more than one cinema

Free publicity is still publicity. DVD sales...
