Just read Tom's review. The 5970 is still considerably faster than this card.

Dipz - Another 5970????? My god mate. heheheheh which one did you go for in the end?
 
Why would you think a 5870 with 2GB of vram would be any quicker than a 5870 with 1GB in all but the most extreme rez with a mass of AA/AF.
 
They support OpenGL4.0 now, AIBs slow to update their spec blurb. :p

Price is quite lol but then again it's new, and targeted at enthusiasts. RAM isn't cheap either.

Any 6 screen Eyefinity setups gonna be showing up in the Desk Thread? ;)
 
Ouch. About £200 more than I paid for my 5870 :/

Still, I'll have to read up on some reviews to compare this card to 1GB cards in (3 screen) eyefinity.

you buy the one that's £100 less :D

wish this didn't cost so damn much, but if you're going 5/6 screen eyefinity, and extra £100 on the gfx card isn't an issue :D

Not a lot really, considering its a 2gb card and has a lot more overclocking room, horses for courses. But I wouldn't be paying that much for it as I think it is too much.

Also I don't game at a high enough resolution to need the extra memory :).
 
Is it me or is ati following nvidias hilarious yet silly pricing scheme?

This new 2gig card would have too perform close too a 5970 for anyone too remotely consider it... will see from the benchies anyhow.

Either way Nvidia/ati need to start shaving off £50-100 off there top end cards like yesterday !
 
It's just a bit of kit for those who want six screens though.

For the average Joe there's just no point at all.
