It varies with the game. I'd probably say the 5870 edges it in dx10 titles by a little.
Was thinking about upgrading too but its really not worth it unless you need DX11 and/or eyefinity.
Have a gander at this and you'll see that the 4870X2 matches or beats the 5870 in most pre DX11 titles. If you can keep hold of it untill Q4 this year perhaps Southern Islands will make more of a worthwhile upgrade?
Two overclocked 5850's on the other hand do look quite tempting to me though.
