I think it's excellent - reminds me of a post-apocalyptic Eiffel Tower! Can't see it getting built in time though

I'm sure it will be a tremendous feat of engineering but I can't view it as beautiful and that's where it falls down for me as a piece of art. I seem to remember hearing similar grandiose claims about the Millenium Dome and that was hardly a resounding success but may this will transcend it's limitations to be something worthwhile.

TBH the main problem with the Dome was the media, it was ripped right from the start and since then never had any good press. It is now one of the most recognisable landmarks in London/the UK and is doing pretty well for itself as the O2 Arena.


And for all those moaning about the cost apparently most/all of the cost is from sponsors so very little tax payer funding.

As for looks, well, it's growing on me I think.

I was referring to the publicity it generated for them, as given their vast revenues (>$100 billion in 2007) the money involved in this particular item is miniscule.
