Damn I thought this looked useless when it was first announced, and didn't feel at all tempted to get one, but now I'm itching for one! It does look extremely slick, I don't think I could justify more than £500 on one so I guess I'll wait till the prices are announced (any news on when we can expect these?). I'm also pennyless for the next few months so maybe I'll have escaped the reality distortion field by then...
 
The Internet. I own the magazines anyway, but couldn't be arsed to scan them.

Once converted to ePub you could theoretically use stanza to read them. That'll allow you to keep track of your reading position across multiple devices / PCs.

Obviously it's not limited to these. I have plenty of other PDFs that aren't natively viewable on an iPhone/iPad. If you listen to the latest MacBreak Weekly they pretty much go through every aspect of the iPad with Andy Inahtko.

Am I the only one who thinks £500 is way too much? £350 would be my limit and I'd want 64GB Wi-Fi for that price... for 16/32GB Wi-Fi I wouldn't go above £300 :(

I'd say £350 for the base spec would be a good price point. Personally i'm gonna wait for the 2nd generation
 
I'm hoping my boss will buy me one, like most other Apple toys (he's a fan).

But not sure I'm impressed with it.

Even less impressed with Fry's portrayal of Jobs as Jesus 2.0 in Time.
 
My laptops on its way out and i reckon this will be the thing to replace it, all i use it for is sofa surfing and watching movies. Fits my needs perfectly, and just looks too damn slick to pass up on :) Better start saving those pennies!
 
i see that most of you that said "i won't be getting one of those" when it was announced are now thinking of getting one now :D

lets face it we are all suckers for gadgets :D
 
I'm almost tempted just so could dump digital copies of all my Cisco/Juniper/etc books onto it and have my reference library on a touch screen device rather than trying to use it on my laptop all the time...that and browsing on the sofa...
