**HTC HD2 Thread**

i dont understand the hype about swype - i installed it and tried it but found the standard xt9(?) typing to be just fine...

Hi guys, I'm trying to install a .CAB and I get this message

installation was unsuccessful. the program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed.

How do I get around this?

Cheers

Just something worth mentioning, I’ve got annoyed with the bulkiness of the clock on the front screen, I’ve actually stopped HTC sense from running. Now I have a 'clean' front to this phone.

edit - or not. Installed coOkies home tab update. much better now.

ive had some weird swype installation issues. when I tried a cab a while ago it would'nt let me get past the lock screen. this time it wiped all my email settings and my web settings. set them all back up and its a great program!

Yup, it's a "known issue" when using certain ROMs - and the main reason I won't be putting it back on! :D

Is anyone else having this issue? It is really annoying me now. When I go to send a message and click the box where it says 'tap to composea message', my phone will hang for about 5 seconds.

Is their a fix for this?

I don't think there has been a comprehensive fix for it no. People have suggested various "workarounds" but It still happens on my ROM (based on 1.66).

Has anyone else experienced any issues with battery drain? And I mean severe drain.

Most of the time my phone's battery is great, usually lasting up to 48 hours with light/medium use, but on occasion it seems to 'purge'. It happened last night and has done it about 3 times in the past fortnight. Take last night as an example. I unplugged my phone from the charger at about 10pm on about 90%. By the morning it was totally dead (0%). I heard it shutdown during the night - not sure of the exact time but must've been about 6am. No programs running and usual settings (weather every 3 hours, email every hour).

Anyone have any ideas why it's doing this? Considering I use my phone as my alarm and it doesn't sound when the phone's off this is extremely annoying!

I used to have that issue with a few of my older HTC phones...... i'm guessing it somehow loses signal, then spends hours trying to get it back, draining the battery in the process

Pretty annoying!

As for day-to-day battery drain, it will differ depending on what Radio you're using. I've just updated mine to 2.07 and it seems to be pretty poor so far! Drains much quicker after doing a bit of 3G and sending some MMS'!

Joy! :D

Its been a while since I have been on this thread but I need to de-activate activesync. Can anyone help me with this one as its always on!.

If you mean "always on" as in, always syncing, then you need to go into Activesync and go to Menu > Schedule then change it to "Manually" for both off and on-peak times.

Is that what you mean?

HTC has never really focussed on camera quality, and this is actually much better than older phones from them. Not much can be done, but then I have a dedicated camera for proper shots, and the phone serves me fine for impromptu ones.

my phone running the latest official ROM seems to crash about once a day, even when sending a text sometimes it hangs or playing music :( Is it just me?

I dont have that problem, and i dont run official roms... I heard from day one that owning HTC = always download some random custom rom from some reputable guy off xda forums because them dudes are better than the HTC monkeys :D

My phone is pretty stable, apart from annoying number pad not showing up when i want to dial a number :(

Mine did that a couple of days ago, quickly went to task manager and found lots of programs in there which never actually closed when I closed them. End tasked them all put a full charge in the phone issue solved.
