As of today my laptop has decided to turn itself off a couple of times while iam browsing the net.

Ive noticed that the base seems to have got hotter than usual, so I expect its shutting itself down as its overheating. Does anyone else have another suggestion as to why its shutting itself down?

Most common problem is overheating, is there a good air flow of hot air out the vents?

Most of the vents are underneath. There is one on the side...all seem pretty clear. Would it be best to try running some temp software? Or do you reckon just take it apart and give it a good clean?

My laptop is the Medion sim 2110 is that helps.

Run stress tests and monitor temps.

Vents may look clean from the outside but the can have a thick layer of dust on the inside blocking airflow.

Does the fan run fast a lot?

Also as asked is there much air coming out of the vents?

You may get lucky and have easy access to the fan vent by removing panel on bottom or just the keyboard. Varies depending on model.

Yeah the only fan that I can see underneath isnt spinning. Left the laptop running for 30mins or so and it was getting hotter...

Taken all the screws out from the underside...occipital drive then slid out but I still can figure out how to remove the base part :o

Not familiar with that model unfortunately, usually its all screws and drives out from underneath, keyboard strip cover off, then keyboard and any remaining screws, sometimes the lcd and wifi cables with it has to come off.

Are there any of those hexagonal nut type screw post under neath at all they can hold it together also, heatsink might have to come out too.
