An ati advertisement for 5570 just landed in my email. Part of it shows this.

I know nvidia drivers have there problems, but this seems a little bias ;)

by extension they are saying that 60% of AMD's users a not happy with the drivers.

" AMDs' are cr*p but just a bit less cr*p than the competitors "

Strange marketing

both sides have problems, IMO more so on nvidias part atm.

Its probably 50/50 though. The latest ATI drivers (officials) have problems in a few games, the betas have highly specific problems with a few games and theres still massive driver related issues with crossfire (flickering etc)

Nvidia has similar problems so its like two 3 legged dogs having a race atm when it comes to driver stability.

I think we should have a poll, i think they are as bad as each other, but saying that I do belive AMD has more to go wrong with their drivers.

Never had any problem with either, maybe it's the games I play and apps I run, but everything has always "just worked".

Or maybe I'm just good with computers ;)

I ve never had any problems with ethoir allthrought its been ages since i owned a desktop Nv card

may change but thats for linux ;)

Also, how many people have had driver problems because they lack the knowledge to install drivers properly, update them when they get a new game, etc. and consequently, voted "YOU SUCK" on that survey?

I would say the truth is somewhere in between. Although Nvidia really need to have a good long look at themselves and the people responsible for the last six months drivers IMO.

So so sooooo true.

The lack of end user knowledge when it comes to even doing the most basic of tasks makes any sort of poll utterly useless as it won't be anywhere near accurate.

I own a 4870X2. The crossfire drivers are appaling at times (eg BFBC2).
I also own a GTX280. The drivers can also be shoddy at times (recent slowdowns).

I've used both nV and ATI cards over the years and had little problem with either. Nearly all computer problems stem from the squshy component between desk and chair

I've had issues with ATi drivers and Nvidia, But sometimes it may be that a new driver dont play ball with your games ! If i lose FPS then I revert back to old driver.

I've been told that ATI drivers work "100%" since around the year 2000 and always have loads of bugs.

You will rarely catch an ATI fanboy complaining about drivers because it's somewhat a raw nerve from the early "Radeon" days when ATI drivers were truly disgraceful.

5xxx series has had loads of problems.

EDIT: my point being most ATI owners don't seem to be as critical when it comes to driver quality.
