Corsair Obsidian 700D

Thanks looks nice then the window always put me off this case and I don't much care about hot swap bays.

Still too pricey for me. If they made a midtower one for around £100, I''ll consider getting a Corsair case but at these price points no way.

Yea the pricing is completely daft I agree should be around £160-£170 max no idea how corsair expect to sell these with the price so close to the 800d.
Maybe the price will come down a bit after a while hopefully.

Too expensive. They need to knock £50 off both cases for them to become competitive. In fact, I'm not particularly fond of Corsair's pricing on any of their products. The pricing of their DGT RAM modules for instance is just insane.

The 800D pricing is set to increase as rebuy costs on the 800D is higher due to poor £ : $ rate. So now is an ideal time to buy if you are considering a purchase.

i never was a fan of the hot swap thing, its totally useless to me. I think they should make a more mid range case with the same style, but perhaps some sort of ventilation or intake fan at the front instead. They should also have kept the window, or just changed it. not removed it.

its interesting that ppl complain about the price of the Obsidian but never about the old lian li V2000.

i had the Lian Li V2000, which has a simlar design to the obsidian, large full tower, with 3 seperate cooling zones. And that was £250.

i see the obsidian as an improvement to that case, and its cheaper, so thats a bonus

i prefer the 700d to the 800d

two out of three friends who own the 800d had problems with the hot swap sata backplanes and corsair had to send them new ones.

I also don't like the window as it shows the PSU.

Il be getting a 700d and putting my own window on it i think.

it looks like you actually get less room in the 800d due to the extra plastic cover that hides the hot swappable sata cables, if video cards get any longer they wont fit in an 800d either :p

Maximum allowed length for PCI(e) card is pretty much same as width of E-ATX motherboard and around length of HD5970.

Woah woah woah hold on one second, what was that?? The 5970 is 12" long but it still has a FEW inches to go before it even reaches the plastic! I think it will be a fairly long time before that becomes an issue in this gargantuan case! ;)
