(Haven't played the game in a few years but assuming blizzard does what it does best...do nothing and rake in the moolah)

Put on your PvP gear on and hope he doesn't have to much +resilience.

Failing that Hamstring rank 3 get out of combat and get your [Turbo-Charged Flying Machine] out as soon as.

First step is report him to blizz with screenshots of threats. It has been known for blizz to recommend going to the local authorities if it persists.

Has he actually got your address? If yes then i'd report him just incase he does something (doubt his mate's would turn up though, that's unlikely). If he doesn't have your address I wouldn't bother doing anything.

If he has said these sorts of things, the very least Game Masters would do is perma ban him. Threats are taken very seriously by Blizzard and I have known of cases where they have notified authorities about such things going on.

Try them again and explain in more detail, perhaps you could call the police and present them with the evidence and they might be able to help you.

Did I read this right? His 'army pals' are gonna get you for switching WOW guilds?

I would really love to see that one explained away in the mess room.:D

Thanks for the replies, even the comical ones :P

The first few messages I just ignored, so I haven't really got any 'evidence' but surely Blizzard have their own chat logs. When I spoke to a GM, or well received a response to my ticket they told me they had resolved the issue yet today with the latest message its apparent they haven't. I've got an open ticket now asking to speak to someone directly about it but that could mean having to stay online all evening which I don't have time for.

The problem is every time he has spoken to me, he suggests hes coming round for a party. He doesnt say anything directly like 'I'm coming round to put your head through a window' he just says something along the lines of 'XXXXX (my address) is where the partys happening this weekend right?' or 'few of my pals are heading to XXXX I might pop by for a catchup.'

Not exactly bricking it, but will definitely be more vigilant this weekend, some people seem a little unstable on the internet and I don't know this guy well enough to know how unstable he is.

Get one of those £9 keyring cameras. If he does "pop" by and try to do something stupid he can kiss his army career goodbye. Remind him of that fact if he turns up.

Most people that threaten others are unable to cope if you greet them with a smile and offer to shake their hand. They won't have mentally planned for that.

I have been in the same situation as you sort of. Had a person who was a bit too interested in me and it was amazing (ill give him cred for his good detective skills) how much info he managed to gather.

This person was insane (literally) and had a lot of issues and money to do as he wished. At one point he even ordered plane tickets and I had to convince him not to go. I was "lucky" tho in the end and managed to convince this person for good that showing up on my door would be bad for him. Had to have a lot of friends backing me up before he gave up :/ Scary as hell. I kept all sorts of info like MSN logs, screenshots, you name it just in case it would come to a point where it would have to be dealt with the local police.

However if this person actually does show up on your doorstep or anywhere close to you IRL with the intention to bother then surely it would be harassment and you could go to the police?

Edit: Also if it did get serious I guess also blizz would be able to provide some chatlogs from ingame. Not sure but may be possible.

This guy is in the army and cares that much about wow...... really dear god. Unless he is a desk monkey in the army and has no life then I dont understand why he would be like this. I mean honestly regardless of whether you like wow or not its a game **** sake.

I personally think hes just trying to scare you and feel big. Just take note of what he is doing and keep reporting it to wow. Make sure you explain that hes not your friend and the reason hes saying odd things. IE "where is the party at" is just the title hes using so it doesnt get picked by wow mods.

I wouldnt worry to much about him turning up at your door dude. I mean if he did I would just laugh at him for doing something so silly over a game its just crazy. Then again if hes crazy dont laugh.... hit him with your keyboard and (insert wow term here) etc etc.
