title says it all.. whats the earliest pc game that got you hooked into the world of pc gaming?

mine has to be the original Age of Empires, (jeez 1997 doesnt seem that far away!!). i was hooked from the first moment i played it on a cousins pc and ive never looked back i still sneak in a lil game from time to time :)

Difficult question. I was already hooked on video games, having owned an Atari 2600 then a Megadrive. Before those, I played on my sister's C64, before inheriting it :p

Think the first PC games I played were from a magazine coverdisk, on school computers. I remember Prince of Persia 1; some really old jet fighter sim (F16?); Knights of the Sky, etc.

Then I got my own PC at... 12 I think... and there was Worms, Battle Isle 2, UFO:EU. All these on a 486 SX-25 we bought for a grand :o

Few years later I built my first PC, and we had C&C, Quake, Descent, etc, etc, etc :) Too many classics to mention.

yeah i was already hooked on consoles, 1st going back to super smash tv, then my all time fav vigilante 8, but since i starting pc gaming from AoE and CS onwards been no looking back :)

probably mass effect i was playing that for 4 days straight pretty much from the time I got on the PC till the time I got treid and went to bed

As previously stated I was hooked on gaming when I owned an Amiga when I was a little boy.

Pc wise - was addicted to ChampionShip Manager 1992/93 and every year since lol, jumped ship to Football Manager

Championship Manager '93 was probably the first PC game to hook me. Oh the joys of Nii Lamptey, Paul Warhurst and Chris Bart-Williams....

Alex Kidd which was the built in game to the Sega Mastersystem.

Pc wise it would have to be Day of the Tentacle, that game actually helped me learn to read im sure :D

The original Syndicate game, I had an amiga back then, and I recall it arriving in post early one saturday morning, I opened it and played it, and played it, and played it.
Later that night, some time around 8pm, I realised I was feeling a bit feint. Realised I had not got dressed, nor eaten nor had anything to drink for the entire day.
I'd just been playing it solid.

Counterstrike would have been my next addicition, many many years later, from beta 5 or therabouts.

CS was followed by an eve-online addiction, which culminated in ISD recruitment back when ISD did stuff, and fanfests visits, and eventually fanfest invitations. It was damn good fun for a while. Eventually got disheartened by the money making machine, and lack of transparency and honesty within the company. Broke ties at that stage, still watch my old corp from time to time, see how they are doing, but haven't played or subscribed since.

Now I play a mix of games, but mainly LOTRo.

Wing Commander I'd say, it was awesome. 1990.
Got an AdLib soundcard for my 386sx 25MHz, first upgrade I ever did. Loved the music.
